Who can submit some information regarding Fred and Ethel's apartment?

As far as I can see, they had that horrible, dark, leaf-patterned wallpaper in season one and two. Then, in season three, they had that lighter, spongy, decoupagey wallpaper. When and how did that happen? (Especially since Fred was so cheap).

Then there was an episode in season three, (#8) called "Redocorating the Mertzes' Apartment," where they all painted and re-upholstered the tacky apartment.

Did it stay the same after that? And why did they make a big deal in the re-decorating episode after the leafy wallpaper was already gone seven episodes before?

Bye the way, Ethel had a way bigger kitchen (than Lucy) with a washing machine in "Never Do Business With Friends" (season two).

Another detail: check out the tacky paintings on the wall; they keep changing.

I also am annoyed by a piece of large furniture that is featured on the main back wall to the left of the door. It looks like a large dresser of some sort. Maybe it was something that was common in the 50's, but it just seems so foreign to me.

It appears the apt. stayed the same after the Ricardos' did their version of Extreme Makeover :lol:

The wallpaper did change, but it was so subtle to me. Good eye my lady. ;)

In the redecorating episode, it always bothered me how Lucy sliced open Fred's chair and started piling the feathers on the table. They didn't even clean up from painting and she was already on to the next project. What was Ethel supposed to do with all those feathers? And I doubt that they could do the upholstery job themselves.

Next time you see this episode, check out the "paint job." It looks like kids did it. There are smears all around the woodwork, there are spots on the wall behind Fred, and Lucy didn't even finish painting the woodwork around the door. The paint stops halfway down.

When Fred opens the window the view outside is blank white. The fan and feather situation made for some good laughs, but it was out of character for Fred to be so stupid. ohno:

Look carefully. In the next to last scene where it shows Ethel admiring her "newly furnished apartment," the camera angle is from the right of the front door, where a wall should be. You can see the edge of the set along the right side of the front door!

I too have noticed that blank view outside the window.

OMG, I so don't get why Lucy felt the need to rush into re-upholstering. My God, the paint was WET! Any feather would adhere to the wall, no matter how careful Lucy was, some of those feathers would fly away. ohno: Did it not occur to anyone to grab some large plastic bags or something to put the feathers in?
