Do you know anyone who spends as much time in a bar as Cliff and Norm did?
And as many beers as they had, how did they keep from becoming alcholics?

Well we all know that Norm practically lived at the bar. Cliffy was there a lot too but I think he did so much talking, that he hardly drank anything.

Maybe that was the issue. Norm was an alcoholic...but a happy one.;)

Did it annoy anyone else that it seemed whatever was going on in the bar, the WHOLE ENTIRE BAR (patrons) seemed to "stick their noses" in whatever was going on. If two people were having a conversation, everyone was watching like they were watching a big screen television playing the Super Bowl. Or they would seem to get in on what was being said or done. That was something that annoyed me so much.

Norm did seem to drink more than Cliff but they hardly ever appeared to get drunk which seems odd. And the whole bar did usually get in on everything that was going on. In a real bar that hardly ever happens, because its usually too noisy and you don't know the other people that well to get involved. Plus you have to be careful what you say or you can end up in the middle of a fight before you know it. At least thats the way bars are around here. And its funny that Cheers didn't have a few more fights in their episodes.

Is there a more realistic show about a neighborhood bar out there, with more fights and swearing and drug use and promiscuity? I can see HBO doing a show like that

I don't know ANYONE who has spent more time in a bar than Norm and Cliff. I would hate to see how much their tabs were!

 Yeah, Sam should have charged interest on their bar tabs.

It's a wonder HBO hasn't put on a show like the one mentioned above.
