View Full Version : Does anyone else have this issue when watching television...
Ireneparalegal 05-20-2007, 12:04 AM certain channels have their volume really high or really low? It never fails, when I watch CBS in the late afternoon/evening, it seems so darn low that we have to put the volume up REAL high.
Also, I have noticed the channel FX is REAL LOUD. It is so loud at times that I don't dare change to that channel when I am watching tv at night when everyone else is asleep.
James"Thunder"Early 05-20-2007, 12:11 AM I've noticed that too.

For some reason whenever a low budget commercial comes on it gets really loud. I'm like wtf?! and then grab the remote.
Janice 05-20-2007, 01:47 AM Most definitely. When my husband is going around the world and back with his remote, I'm always after him to "Turn it down!" He blames the channels, and he's right, but still, "Turn it down!", lol. It's maddening.
TripperFan 05-20-2007, 09:11 AM That drives me bananas!
Sometimes its not just different stations, but the ads compared to the show you're watching (and advertisers say they don't do it - yah......right!). You'll have a show or movie on that's soundtrack is quite low, or there's whispering scenes (CSI, etc.) so you crank it up and then when the commercials come on it deafens you. aaaaackkkk!
Penny Lane 05-20-2007, 10:33 AM That !@%^%# Oxyclean commercial with Billy Mays just grates my nerves. Why does he have to talk so loud?
I hate that too, why can't they keep them all at the same sound level and then let us viewers decide how loud or low we want it?

LMAO!! I know! I have to mute the t.v. He pratically shouts.

All the time. My local NBC channel is unusally low and I have an aux hooked up with my tv. My ESPN news channel is real loud and my Lifetime Movie network channel is real loud as well.

Oh God Yes! Once when I tuned into that channel to check the baseball scores...WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My boyfriend was in the kitchen and he said "Why do you have that tv so damn loud!!!???" I had to show him it wasn't me messing with the volume.
I Love John Ritter 05-21-2007, 01:08 AM Yes, I've noticed that. It's really annoying. I've noticed that CBS is typically louder than all the rest of the channels and I don't know why. It's gotten better, but a few months ago it was significantly louder than the rest--I mean if I had it at a normal volume on any channel and then changed to CBS it would be blasting. Another thing that gets on my nerves is that the commercials (on any channel) are always louder than the program itself.
Georgia's on my Mind 05-21-2007, 10:56 AM yeah thats dumb..especially when random commericials like double in volume and then go back to normal..cukoo
APPLEI 05-21-2007, 03:37 PM i also noticed that commercials are twice as loud:mad:
TheHappyBurgerMeister 05-21-2007, 06:52 PM yeah, for me it seems most local channels (like nbc, etc) have really low volume, but then the cable channels are a lot higher in volume!
