I've read that Redd had ad-libbed some on Sanford & Son. Does anyone have any specific examples to share?

I am pretty sure he add-libbed on the second epsiode of "Happy Birthday Pop" Fred and Lamont were in that ritzy bar. Lamont said "This ain't no honkytonk bar" Fred turned around and said, "Looks like a bunch of honkys to me." That sounded like it was add-libbed to me and a knockout.

At the jail scene where Fred and Esther are hurling insults at each other, just as the police chief jumps in between them. Esther got off some of her best lines in that episode. :lol:

Agreed! That exchange between Fred and Esther was one of the best in the entire series, IMO. :happyface

The end of "There'll Be Some Changes Made," where Fred insults Esther and she goes after him, and he gets her wig off.:happyface

Based on the way Demond Wilson reacted after that, I am pretty sure it was an add-lib. :lol:
