Both shows featured the great comedy team of Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan, but which show did you like better?

Maude certainly had a lot of things going for it: a fantastic theme song by Donny Hathaway, the introduction of Esther Rolle as Florida Evans, and of course the larger than life title character. But I think The Golden Girls had a tighter ensemble, funnier situations and the actresses had chemistry to spare. Plus it was somehow funnier when the girls yelled at each other as opposed to Maude and Walter's confrontations.

So I'm going with The Golden Girls. ;)

Both great but i will have to vote for golden girls!

Both are great, but I'm going with Maude since it was groundbreaking at 47 Maude has an abortion. I'm watching the first season and enjoying it, loved when Maude meets Florida for the first time.

Golden Girls. I never saw Maude.

I liked Golden Girls slightly better than Maude but both were very good shows.

The Golden Girls for me. I bought Maude Season 1, and I didn't think it was that great of a show.
