Inside sources are saying that Justin Chatwin is the front runner to land the coveted role of young Eric Lansherr aka Magneto. You'll most likely remember him as the son of Tom Cruise's character in War of the Worlds. Justin was in the David Goyer directed, The Invisible as well.

It is expected that the Magneto spin-off will be an origin tale of the young mutant post-holocaust.
