Hi Everyone-

I am really enjoying reading the boards but I am jealous of all of you! The cable and satellite options in my area suck and I can't participate in all the great discussions you are having. I remember all the wonderful shows from the past but I can't get them now. Some of the best ones I don't get are:

Alice
Bewitched
Gilligan's Island
I Dream of Jeannie
Facts of Life
Dick Van Dyke
Mary Tyler Moore, etc.

I can't even remember the last time I saw any of these, and you all are seeing them on a regular basis!

I do get Roseanne, Sanford and Son, I Love Lucy, Jeffersons, M*A*S*H, Little House on the Prairie, Golden Girls, etc. and they're on so often I see several episodes a day. At this point my board participation is limited; I wish I could be a part of your club! :wave:

Don't feel bad - I don't have cable or satellite at all!! But it's OK, I take the DVDs of the classic shows out of the library, and I own the sets of Bewitched, Barney Miller, Bob Newhart and Little House. So it's all good. No commercials and I can watch whenever I want to. ;)

You should try getting some dvd's from the trading post here. I got my first season of ALICE last year from a great trader.

Thanks, girlfriends! I have the entire ILL set and LDCH, which are my favorites. I'll check out our library. With only 6000 people in town, I'm not sure what I will find!

I want to buy the Brady Bunch, but I heard negative feedback about the packaging. Irene, maybe I can try the trading post too. I am just worried about sending money to someone I don't know! Are there guidelines that help us newbies? :baby:

Just to let you know, Mary Tyler Moore Seasons 1-4 are out on DVD right now. You should def. buy them if you're a fan (it'll help ensure the release of S5-7, too!). I second the suggestion of the trading board. I've had some successes there over the years.

Thanks to all! I thought I was the only one who couldn't get the shows I wanted. Thanks for the suggestions! I can't bring myself to watch the current crap, so I'll have to go for plan B. I do have over 100 older movies on DVD (over 30 Hitchcock), but I'd like to lighten things up now and then with my old favorites from TV.
