Hi everyone.
I'm a huge ALICE fan... so of course I jumped at the ad in New York City TimeOUT last week when Linda Lavin was in town.
I went to see her at this little night-club like place in the city (The Metropolitan Room). She did a cabaret-type show recalling her life through song....she looked amazing (had cool blonde frosted hair and a snazzy outfit  ) and she sang TWO VERSIONS OF THE ALICE THEME SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (The early-to-rise one... and the I-used-to-be-sad one!!!). She talked about how she became an accidental spokeswoman for working women and labor, etc.
I sat right in the front next to her... she was so cool at the end, walking around and talking to people in the crowd. ...She even played the piano a little. It was kind of informal, but planned at the same time. She talked about ALICE being on ION right now and said "I can't believe how cute I was then..." Some guy screamed out "you still look great girl!" LOL.
It was an experience! She sang really well... she did this really touching version of "The Song Remembers When" and her husband played the drums to back her up. She said she lives in North Carolina now and she/husband are opening up a mom-n-pop theatre! She was also really funny...still has the comic charm!
I just wanted to share my experience with the Alice crowd. Linda is still rockin' into her senior years!!! :)
