Exactly how many VFW dances were mentioned and did they ever show one of them before?

I don't know how many times VFW was mentioned. But I do know they never showed any scenes of any VFW dances.

I know Flo was the only one always talking about going to the VFW dances. After she left town, nobody mentioned them again to my knowledge.;)

Alice mentioned the VFW dance once, but she was impersonating Flo on the "Role Reversal" scene in "Close Encounters of the Worst Kind"
"I never did make it to the VFW dance, cause I never did make it out of the parking lot all night" :)
