Ireneparalegal 05-15-2007, 10:18 PM Lately, with ALICE showing now on ION, I look forward to checking out the threads on there. Especially since there is so much activity with Brian Damage and Solomon making interesting threads on this show.

Usually I go to the view new posts board which shows all the threads that are currently active. Then I'll check my user CP to see what subscribed threads have been replied too since I posted.

swedeace 05-17-2007, 08:13 AM For me, I like to go accordingly to my email notification replies I get in my mailbox. If I don't have time, I will just read those email notifications but not click on the individual thread links to visit SO. When I do have time, I will click on each link and post in order of newest to last from all the email notifications.
On those rare occasions when I get an email notification that I have received a PM, then I will open those up since I can't read them in my mailbox. I just usually don't reply immediately.
Apart from email notifications and if I am just visiting the main Chit Chat window. After individually replying and/or reading those aforementioned threads, I will just read through the main Chit Chat and weed through threads that look interesting. I don't open up every new thread. Sometimes I don't have time and just feel like going through interesting titled threads whether I have time or not.
Mr. Cranky 05-17-2007, 01:39 PM Chit Chat, to see what all you wild ones are up to. lol

then over to General Discussion boards
Yooch 05-18-2007, 09:44 PM 1. I click on View New Posts, then
2. I scroll down through all of them, looking closer at all the Chit Chat threads.
3. If I find a Chit Chat thread that looks interesting, or I feel a need to post on it, then I will open that thread.
4. Before I post, I almost always go back to post #1 in the thread and either read, or scan it to 1) Make sure I really understand what the post is about, and 2) Make sure I'm not being redundant, in the sense of repeating the same thing as someone else. Of course, if someone has something that I completely agree with, and feel I couldn't have said it better, then I will hit the 'quote' button, and either express my agreement in word or with a smiley of some sort.
5. Sometimes I'll come upon a thread that hasn't been active in a while, and wonder if I already posted on it in the first place a long time ago. I may have changed my opinion about something from the first time I posted, and I don't want to sound contradictory! (I think I saw a thread about this very phenomenon once, i.e., saying something different than what one originally wrote.)
6. I seldom just browse SO (I think 'lurking' is the term I've heard), except if perhaps I'm pressed for time, and can only stay on a few minutes. Therefore, I try to post something, anything, at least once before I logout.

Yooch 05-19-2007, 12:08 AM I know, Irene, but thanks for the positive feedback anyway. I got a little carried away. To tell you the truth, I'm not as methodical in my ways as I appear to be, according to my post, but, to put it more succinctly, the Chit Chat boards are where I spend the vast majority of my time while on SO. :D (ggtdm)
