With all due respect to the many Charles In Charge fans on this board, I never could stand the theme song. The lyrics were so unbelievably corny. Same goes for the Eight Is Enough theme.

I always thought the theme song from Mister Ed was pretty corny.

I'm just glad they kept the version with the lyrics; over the ones from the unsold pilots with that god-awful scatting.

I'll say the Alice theme from 1977-78. After seeing episodes on Ion recently, it is one I'm not a fan of. Same for the one used from 1982 on. The 1976 and 1978 ones I really liked though.

I never enjoyed Rosanne's theme song. The final seasons of Happy Days wasn't the best, but I didn't hate it.

I have to disagree about Three's Company though. I always thought the song was pretty good.

Family Ties theme song, without a doubt. My sister and I have dubbed it the worst theme song ever...sha na na na.

I will also add the second Boy Meets World theme (Cory running down the stairs into the car), 7th Heaven, Roseanne (I actually like it with lyrics in the final season), Charles in Charge (of my days and my nights), and Growing Pains. I can't think of too many that I hate. The only ones running through my head are ones I like.

See, I actually like the Family Ties and Growing Pains songs. The Boy Meets World theme from the first season was grating and too cutesy-poo. I never even knew the Roseanne song had lyrics. :eek2: I guess you do learn something new every day!!

It was better as the years progressed in Boy Meets World when they added the Beatle-esque singing, though.

The Roseanne song with lyrics was used in the final season "What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger..." I'm not sure if the words were written when the theme song debuted or if they came out just for the final season.
Honestly, I used to not like the third BMW theme, but it's the only one with lyrics and I find myself singing it sometimes when I'm writing the words Boy Meets World

The Drew Carey Show --- because I hate Drew Carey. Cleveland rocks? No way!

That 70s Show --- Goodbye Wisconsin!!

The Wonder Years --- The song is nice but they should have used The Beatles version instead of Joe Cocker

Bosom Buddies - I love "My Life" by Billy Joel. I don't know what song they replaced it with for the syndicated reruns that are running now but it's not very good.

WKRP In Cincinnati - I like the theme they use for the opening credits. I hate the one they have at the closing credits.


As bad as these themes sound to me, and I'm sure there are others that thankfully I've forgotten about for the moment, in my opinion, the absolute worst of all is:

THE PATTY DUKE SHOW!!

Purely awful in every way imaginable: the lyrics, the singing, the visual images, everything. It is the one main reason why I refuse to watch this show at all, even on YouTube. I can't sit through the entire theme without getting VERY queasy!

Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go grab a hot dog....

As far as what I think is my least favorite TV show theme song goes: I would find all three of Family Guy's, American Dad!'s, and The Cleveland Show's theme songs boring. If they come on, I prefer to just skip through their opening themes and go straight to the episodes. The Cleveland Show has the worst theme out of all the three.

I'll take the season 2 theme over the first any day. The first was like nails-on -a-chalkboard with that annoying tuba.

Ditto on the Friends theme song. I turn it off every time I hear it on the radio. Luckily it hardly gets played these days.

You don't? I like the Girl Meets World theme song. It's very Disney-esque, yes, but it's not too bad. It's actually kind of catchy. I think it's the only thing about GMW that's better than BMW. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion.
