I was watching the early episodes of the first season, and even in the intro you can see that Jessica's nose is different (larger) in these episodes, then all of a sudden it looks smaller a few episodes into the first season. I wonder if Katherine Helmond had a nose job (and I really hope that doesn't come off sounding like a rude, prying question)? I just wondered because I never heard anyone else mention it before yet it definitely seems to be the case.

While working with Katherine on the show every week, I didn't notice anything change about her nose. Nor did she take any time off for any sugery. The general schedule would be three weeks of shooting and a week off for Susan to get caught up with scripts.

I would think that surgery such as that would be noticable. Katherine, who is the most wonderful person, always had very fine facial features.

I do not remember Jessica having a nose Job.

I don't know, I'm usually pretty good at noticing when people get plastic surgeries done, but I didn't notice it with Katherine Helmond during Soap.

That's funny, because I thought the same thing. In the first couple of episodes, her nose does look different. Maybe it was because of the hairdo- not sure. But, I definitely noticed some difference (i.e. look at the show's opening, how it looks, and how it looked in the second opening, at the table with Mary, when she's wearing blue).
