View Full Version : Is the month of June going to be a Tough Buying Decision for anyone else?
TVFactFan 05-14-2007, 12:24 PM In the month of June, it will be 4 releases that I want to see but don;t want to Buy all 4 DVD releases in one month
Welcome Back Kotter season 1
Cosby show season 3
Cosby Show season 4
What's happening Now season 1
I will choose two out of four and may go with one of the cosby shows and welcome back kotter. Anyone else have this problem in june that they want to see 3 or more releases?

The Cosby releases are pre-selling for $15.00 at deepdiscount.com. That price is unbeatable to me. They also have season 2 for $15.00, and Season 1 for $12.00! I've been wanting What's Happening Now!! as well.
BuddyHinton 05-14-2007, 12:55 PM Two Thumbs Up For First Look Studio's For Really Being The First STUDIO To Release Two Seasons DVD'S At The Same Time Same Date.(THE COSBY SHOW S-3 & 4) I Don't Think Any Other Studio Done This Before, Unless You Want To Count The Studios That Release 2 Season Togather Because The First Season Had Only 6 Episodes (dallas Season 1), And Release The 2nd To Make A Complete Set.
If Only The Rest Of The Studio's Who Follow And Give Us 2 Season At A Time.
It Doesn't Have To Be A Set Togather.as Long As The 2 Season Come Out On The Same Day, That Would Be Great. & I Really Don't Think That Fans Would Complain As Much
....sorry couldn't resist..... :)
Actually not at all. I buy any set that catches my fancy and budget according to this fact. I am far from rich but I have priorities.
I'm considering Silver Spoons as well.
JulieSomoski 05-14-2007, 03:28 PM I'm buying exactly the 4 you said, plus Silver Spoons, so that's 5 DVD's in one month, which is more than I have ever gotten.

robby76 05-16-2007, 12:31 PM I am getting June 12
Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew S2
Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries for me too! I can't wait for that one! I have so many sitcoms that I can't wait to get some retro hour longs again - especially ones from the 70s.
Silver Spoons looks good but I may wait and see.
bencasey 05-17-2007, 02:42 AM If something comes out that I want, I buy it. Not a problem. The more the merrier. I usually buy 5-10 sets a month and I just wish more came out from the 50s and 60s for me to get.
JulieSomoski 05-17-2007, 03:20 PM August is going to be an even busier month for ne, since every day it seem slike they are announcing a new release coming out in August, especially the 7th.
Full House: Season 7
Roseanne: Season 8
Saved by the bell: Hawaiian Style/Las Vegas
Suite Life of Zack and Cody: V2
Cory in the House: V1
Home Improvement: Season 7
Robert 13 05-17-2007, 03:43 PM I'll be buying What's Happening Now!! and maybe Welcome Back Kotter. :)
robby76 05-20-2007, 12:43 AM Back again to answer...
To be honest I'd love to buy WH Now but I've never seen a single episode and can't really afford to take the chance - especially with the cost of international shipping. I did buy and love the original series though.
If the Cosby Show wasn't constantly in re-runs, I'd probably get those too.
dakert 05-26-2007, 12:00 AM Robby--I would pass on Whats Happening Now and waste your money on something that you really want or that is rare!

Oh, my goodness! I've been watching reruns of What's Happening Now!!" on TV Land every morning before work, and it is quite bad. I used to watch it all the time when I was a child, but Raj became a complete buffoon during this series (with him "putting his foot down", attempting to be demanding and acting childish at the same time). He really ruined that show. When the release was first announced, I was very excited about it and planned on buying it- but not anymore.
On the episode I saw this morning, Raj was trying to sell a horse by putting an ad in the newspaper. The paper was misprinted and it read house for sale, so a guy offered $5,000.00 for the house (Raj thought it was for the horse), and he sold the house unwittingly. Raj let this stranger throw him out of his house without paperwork being filled out or anything (only a small deposit exchanged hands). I didn't bother to watch it through to the end. That kind of "comedy" grates on my nerves. That's why I can't watch "Saved by the Bell" anymore.
TVFactFan 05-29-2007, 02:45 PM Well I have made a decision to buy only ONE of the 4 during the month of June due to tight budget and that will be "WELCOME BACK KOTTER". I will be buying the others in July
KonfusionFTC 06-01-2007, 08:52 AM Bought a few already
Chips Season 1
Wait till your father gets home season 1
Will get soon
Fall Guy Season 1
Silver Spoons Season 1

I'll have to eat my words on this one. Yes, the horse episode is definitely bad, but I've been watching other episodes over the past few days and it is good enough for me to purchase. I'm also getting Seasons 3 and 4 of The Cosby Show and Silver Spoons. O/T I'm also purchasing the Special Editions of Coming to America and Trading Places.

I would defintely have to buy season 3 and 4 together of the Cosby Show. Now I'm trying to decide between welcome back kotter and Cosby Show. I have pushed What's Happening Now off my to buy list for now
With the current sale at DeepDiscount, if you purchase both Cosby seasons anytime after the release date they go down to $12 and change each. I don't know how well these sets will sell, because the circulars in the Sunday paper didn't mention them at all...
Maybe in a few months What's Happening Now!! will be available for a lower price. What's Happening!! season one has been at Wal-Mart for a few years with a price tag of $13.78
JulieSomoski 06-04-2007, 05:49 PM Yeah, not one of my local papers included TCS S3 or 4 in their papers, which is said, because they do bother to include the cheap one season shows.
I'm sure it will sell well though, considering that it is The Cosby Show, and it is still very popular these days.

If people don't know it's available, they won't purchase it. I hope this means that more sets of A Different World are also on the way.

That's definitely the worst episode I've seen so far. I was like "Why in the hell are you letting this guy throw you out of your house? There was no contract or anything.". I don't expect emmy quality writing on WHN, but come on. Very stupid.
The only shows I'm buying this month are Welcome Back Kotter and CHiPs. I was thinking about buying WHN season 1 but since they're showing it on TV Land unedited, I figure "why bother?".
KJH278 06-05-2007, 12:30 AM Here;s my List for June
CHIPS
WWE The Ladder Match DVD
The Most Powerful Families in Wrestling DVD
JulieSomoski 06-05-2007, 04:30 PM I believe for The Cosby Show, the sales rank nis very low (in the top 100 for sure) which is good, plus when I went to Best Buy to buy my copies, they were the last 2 left, which was really weird, but good. So, it looks like it is selling well. Let's just hope they give us 2 more seasons of A Different World next, instead of 2 more of Cosby.
Moonlit_Suburb 06-08-2007, 06:09 AM Silver Spoons: Season 1 is definitely my TV-DVD highlight of the month; I'll be getting that one right away for sure...
I'm also going to get Cosby Show: Seasons 3 & 4, but I still have to get S1 & S2 first...
KonfusionFTC 06-08-2007, 06:22 AM I really like the silver spoons set. Ive been enjoying it so far. Glad to finnally have a nice quality dvd release of it.

TVFactFan 06-09-2007, 12:58 AM I went to Best Buy today to buy Welcome back kotter and I found out it's not released until the 12th-lol
