I've decided to make my own version of Back To The Future Part IV. I figured, what better place than this to scout my material and see what you all think about it. Well, without any further ado, our curtain rises and we are once again treated to the famous lightning scene of the legendary Robert Zemeckis and Robert Gale created BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy...
----------

Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd in

BACK TO THE FUTURE PART IV

Scene One- Credits/ Back to 1955.

(cue music from beginning of BTTF Part 2)

Famous lightning scene featured in the first three BTTF films is once again re-enacted with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd starting at the following point:

Marty- Doc! (progressing up to 88 mph as Doc readies to connect wires.) Electricity surge occurs: Doc has connected the wires just as the lightning strikes. Marty, in a bright flash of light, is back in the altered 1985 as “other” Marty rushes around the block to say to 1955 Doc that he needs his help after Doc’s 1985 incarnation has just sent himself back in time to 1885 into the Old West (he sends himself back to 1885 in 1955 as 1985 Doc and Marty had to go back to 1955 in order to prevent the menacing Biff from gaining too much power in the years following 1985, leading up to 2015, another time period the two (Marty and Doc) tangle with in BTTF Part II)).

Credits.

Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd in
BACK TO THE FUTURE PART IV
Starring Lea Thompson
Mary Steenburgen
Thomas F. Wilson
And James Tolkan.

Scene Two- New Time Machine.

(re-enactment of last scene of BTTF Part III where Marty is back in 1985 after his adventures in the Old West.)

Marty rushes to Jennifer, waking her up with a kiss (she was left on her porch in altered 1985 after traveling with the boys to 2015, where Marty purchases Grey’s sports almanac, and old Biff steals Doc’s time machine to give his 1955 self the book so he will be all powerful in an altered 1985. Jennifer had fainted after meeting her future self in 2015, so Doc and Marty just left her that way when they got back to the altered 1985, leaving her on the front porch).

Jennifer and Marty run to the train tracks (new scene not originally shown in Part III)

Marty- Jesus, Jennifer, you don’t know what we’ve went through, and believe me, you don’t want to know.
Jen- What Marty?
Marty- We saw ourselves in different times, it was surreal--- I’ve been shot, called out and tried to protect my other self in 1955 by being clobbered by Biff’s goons.
Jen- Who?
Marty- That group of funny old men who hang around Biff were once tough guys.
Jen- They seem harmless now.
Marty- They are--- once we altered the timeline, and Biff became a pansy-ass, they became pansy-asses too.
Jen- (giggles) So, this is where you came back to?
Marty- Yep, right over yonder, come on.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(back to last scene of BTTF Part III)
(same exact dialogue and visuals until the end credits)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Doc has now ventured off into a different time, and Marty and Jen are getting ready to get back home.

Marty- I feel like I haven’t seen you in years Jen. Well, technically, I guess I haven’t. We got a little bit of catching up to do…

(start to kiss as Marty notices a flyer go by)

Jen- What is it?
Marty- Some damned litter bug just threw a paper on the floor. Now, where were we?
Jen- Just about here… (puckers up)
Marty- This is annoying me, I’m gonna go throw this out…
Jen- Oh, Marty…
Marty- Holy ****!
Jen- What is it, Marty?
Marty- (eyes bug out) I got to go find Doc!

(music)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Marty- Wait a minute (stops running)… Who the hell’s gonna know where he is? He’s no longer in 1985!
Jen- Marty, what’s so important?
Marty- This…
Jen- (reading from newspaper) “Famed scientist found dead in lab.” We just saw him Marty!
Marty- Read on…
Jen- Wait a minute, is this dated?
Marty- The date is ripped off the top… somebody doesn’t want us to see this.
Jen- “Unknown who killer is, but we’ll keep you posted as we find out more details.” Killer, he was killed?
Marty- Apparently, Jen. How the hell… (stops) 1955.
Jen- You’re getting time machine whiplash… it’s ‘85, Marty.
Marty- (picks up paper remnants on ground, pieces them together) June 12th, 2015. Biff.
Jen- Biff… 1955... Marty?
Marty- Jennifer… you had to be there. 1955 Doc got a little too curious when he said he wanted to see me in the future…
Jen- Hmmm??
Marty- He created the time machine 30 years before he was supposed to… and then another version of him built the one he was supposed to build for my 1985 rendezvous! He went too far into the future and Biff was ready to get sweet revenge for all Doc had done to him during his various time traveling adventures! It’s too late though, Jen. He’s as good as dead…

Input, input! Come on, where are all my BTTF- The Series commentators out there? Please correct any mistakes in continuity or tell me if something doesn't make sense!

Here's another short scene.

Scene 3- Doc's Lab.

(in Doc’s lab)

Marty files through papers. Jennifer, frantically, looks for signs of where Doc may’ve went.

Marty- Here they are Jen, what started this whole damn thing… the plans for the time machine.

Jen- Marty, has Doc ever expressed an interest to you about going to Indiana?

Marty- What?

Jen- Look… (hands Marty paper that says that Doc was born in Indiana)

Marty- Of course… yeah, that’s what he was talking about when he kept rambling on about his high school years… at Kipling High.

Jen- How does that help us… he’s not in Indiana in 1985. He’s in it somewhere in the future.

Marty- Jennifer, we have to create a time machine…

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

(outside of Lou’s Café)

Marty- Want a burger?
Jen- Nah, I’m watchin’ my figure.
Marty- (looks down) So am I Jen, so am I.
Marty- What did it feel like for you when we warped to 2015?
Jen- Like nothing… like it just happened, I didn’t even really notice it until I saw the flying cars.
Marty- Every time I went back I felt nothing… not a change in weight, size, age, anything… I was just in a different era.
Jen- (nods) Yeah, Marty, it just felt weird when I heard we were 30 years ahead of our time…
Marty- Let’s not waste any more time… we’ve gotta build this thing.
Jen- How? Where do we start?
Marty- At the beginning, perhaps?
Jen- Boy am I with a smart guy…
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(1 day later)

Marty- Boy Jen we really lucked out finding these plans and a storage shed where he hid all of this ****.
Jen- I’ll say, we’re nearly done. Then we can go to 2015 to stop Doc from being murdered.
Marty- This all sounds very familiar. (light bulb goes off in his head as Marty starts to remember something about the past) Of course, that’s why I went back to 1885, to stop Biff’s ancestor from killing Doc! Boy those Tannen’s are vicious!
Jen- Hey, isn’t there a superior system of protection in the future where it’s nearly impossible to kill a man with a gun?
Marty- Jen, this is Biff, deceiving and conniving, I couldn’t trust him to not do anything.
Jen- Alright, let’s get moving.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scene Four- Lightning Struck, Again.

Marty- I’m ready, are you sweetie?
Jen- Let’s go…
Marty- Hold on for your life, Jen, here we go…!
(Lightning storm brews) Boy is this ever reminiscent of 1955.
Jen- You talk like you were alive in 1955.
Marty- Well, in a sense I was, wasn’t I?
Jen- I suppose so. I’m a 47 year old’s girlfriend.
Marty- Sounds weird.
Jen- It is.
(music starts up slowly, then turns faster as Marty gears up and they sail right through time into the year 2015.)

Ironically, the lightning strikes the moment Marty gets the gauge up to 88 mph.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jen- Did you see that lightning we left behind?
Marty’s eyes bulge
What is it, Marty?
Marty- Oh my God, no!!!!!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

to be continued...

What has Marty so aghast in this new version of 2015 (now that 1955 Doc has altered everything thanks to his curiousity)? What will become of Doc, Marty, Jennifer, and Einstein? Find out in scene five of BACK TO THE FUTURE PART IV.

Quick update, I'm sorry, I know some of you were interested in this and I seem to have dropped it like a hot potato. But rest assured, I'm still tweaking my BTTF ideas all the time. As a matter of fact, I have a whole NEW direction for my own version of Part IV, which I'll try to bring you part of very soon.

Thanks guys for your support. More very soon, as soon as I figure out the logistics of time travel a little better... I want there to be as much of a sense of continuity between this script and that of the first three films as possible. Thanks again!

I LOVE the Back to the Future movies- great to see some fanfiction out there for it. I remember being big into reading some other BTTF fanfic some years ago, but it's been a while. This one seems to be pretty good so far- interesting ideas. (Of course, the one thing I don't like about the movies is the foul language and I'd rather not see that in stories either- but I will admit it's in keeping with what was heard in the movies.) Also, I have my doubts that Marty and Jennifer could honestly build a time machine on their own- but, hey- it's a story. Maybe it could happen. There are some good ideas in here- I am interested in the plot. :)

Going to try to add a little exposition here. Some of what has come before doesn't really make much sense to me, so I doubt it makes sense to anyone else. Time travel logic can be confusing, but I'll do my best.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2015. 1955 Doc is teaching a class in quantum physics at UCLA.

Student- So Doctor Brown, are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?

Doc- Yes, Jonas, precisely! You see, after the 1985 me was shot by the Libyans, my good friend Marty had to go back to 1955 to get me to help send him back to the future, where 1985 me was waiting for him. Marty had told me about how the 1985 version of me was very by the book... no unnecessary time travel. But you see, my curiosity got the better of me. Marty came back to me, and needed my help again. It seems that the 1985 version of me sent himself back to the Old West due to a glitch on the time travel equipment. Then we discovered that I was killed by a Tannen back in 1885. Immediately after I sent Marty back to the past so he could try to correct the future, I decided I needed to build another time machine to go see what happened to me... the other me that is. Of course the problem is I'm from 1955, and plutonium isn't exactly available to the general public there. So I decided I needed another plan... I remembered Marty saying something about Ronald Reagan the actor becoming President of the United States. So I tracked down Mr. Reagan and explained the whole story. He was so indebted to me that he told me he had a friend who knew Eisenhower, who was in the midst of scaling back nuclear power. That friend just happened to have access to a vault containing enough plutonium to send me back to 1885!
Student- So what ever happened to the old you?
Doc Brown- I don’t know. That’s the horrifying part. But I assume since I am still alive in this form, Marty must have succeeded in saving me. God, I wish there was a way I could know for sure though. You see the time machine accidentally sent me to 2015 instead of 1885. The machine I built must not have calibrated right or something. All’s I know is…
Marty and Jennifer bust into Doc’s lecture hall.
Marty- Doc!
Doc- Marty? Jennifer?
Marty- What did you do? I walk back to my house after what I thought was my last jump through time, and I find out… Communism succeeded. Ronald Reagan never became President, Doc. Some bozo got in the White House instead and screwed everything up. The whole fabric of our society changed, Doc. And I find out you got killed in 2015. You know the other you is living a happy life back in 1885, and here you are, lecturing a class about time, when you have no idea what you’ve done to it.
Marty looks at a kid’s desk and sees Soviet paraphernalia covering the desk.
Marty- They’re still in charge. You killed democracy, Doc.
A stern, older, balding man approaches Marty from behind and taps him on the soldier. He turns around and has an uncanny moment with the man. He’s clearly a Soviet, but he’s a dead ringer for Strickland.
Russian Strickland- Young man, are you enrolled in this school?
Marty- Well, you see, I used to be… but a whole lot of stuff happened. And now…
Russian Strickland- It’s a yes or no question.
Marty- Um… I guess no then.
Russian Strickland- Guards!
Two armed guards approach Marty and Jennifer.
Russian Strickland- Escort these slackers off the premises immediately. Mr. Brown, I suggest you keep teaching.
Marty intensely stares at Doc and shakes his head.
Doc- I’ll think of something, Marty.
Marty- No, Doc, you know what… (breaks free from the Russian’s grasp temporarily and points) You’ve done enough. For such a smart guy, you’ve done something unimaginably stupid.
Doc stares and frowns at his old friend, stunned at what just happened. Strickland barks at Doc before leaving the room, ensuring order be restored to the classroom. Doc hesitantly returns to teaching.
