This isn't a sitcom, but I thought Olivia Walton was a good mother.

Elyse Keaton - Family Ties
Muriel Rush - Too Close for Comfort
Florida Evans - Good Times
Mrs. C - Happy Days
Joan Nash - Please Don't Eat the Daisies
Vivian Banks (Janet Hubert-Whitten's portrayal) - Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Kate Tanner - ALF
Caroline Ingalls - Little House on the Prairie
Olivia Walton - The Waltons
Kate Lawrence - Family
Annie Camden - 7th Heaven
Donna Stone - The Donna Reed Show

Favorite grandmother's:
Clair's mom on the Cosby Show
Kathryn Romano - One Day At A Time

Favorite single moms:
Kate McArdle - Kate & Allie
Ann Romano - One Day at A Time
Alice Hyatt - Alice

Favorite step-mother:
Sandra Sue "Abby" Abbott Bradford - Eight Is Enough. I liked the way Betty Buckley played her. She was more the children's friend and not trying to be their mom nor trying to replace Joan. She was more of a mother towards Nicholas because he was 8 at the time that her and Tom married. You can see they had a special relationship. Her and Mary, the oldest daughter, had more of a special sisterly relationship. She confided more in Mary about issues she had with the family and in her life.
