View Full Version : Potential hosts to succeed Bob Barker on "The Price is Right"
Dynomite 05-13-2007, 01:10 PM This Wednesday and Thursday, tune in at 8:00 p.m. EDT to CBS-TV for The Price is Right Million Dollar Special and Bob Barker: A Celebration of 50 Years on Television. Remember, Bob is retiring at 83 years of age, next month, and at the same time, Fremantle Media is still looking to select his potential successor. So, one more time, here's a list of potential successors:
1. Todd Newton
2. Mark Steines
3. Mario Lopez
4. George Hamilton
5. Other, please post.
This is your vote, but Fremantle Media will finally decide soon who Bob Barker's successor will be. Let the voting begin.
Zoneboy 05-13-2007, 01:12 PM I thought Mario Lopez was no longer in the running.
LeeBlue 05-14-2007, 12:09 AM I'd like to see either George Hamilton or Richard Karn (Home Improvement/Family Feud) as the new host of "The Price is Right" -- I think either one would do a terrific job.
mriggles 05-15-2007, 05:31 AM I thought Mario Lopez was no longer in the running.
he is not in the running, hamilton, newton & steines are the big three. It is my understanding that CBS & fremantle really are not sold on any of them.
Zoneboy 05-15-2007, 08:05 AM he is not in the running.
Precisely.
Chelsea 05-16-2007, 02:42 AM Mario Lopez is not in the running. His contract option was NOT picked up.
However, John O'Hurley IS still in the running. There was no option that had to be picked up to keep him under contract, as he's already under contract for Family Feud (in syndication). And Mr. O'Hurley is DEFINITELY my pick to be host.
catlover79 05-16-2007, 11:37 AM John O'Hurley would be my pick too. No offense to Mario Lopez, but him hosting Price Is Right - following Bob Barker?? - puke:
John O'Hurley would be a good choice. Robert Waggoner would make a good host too, if he was in the running. But he might be considered too old.
Dynomite 05-16-2007, 03:44 PM John O'Hurley would be a good choice.
Possibly, but John O'Hurley is doing a good enough job, hosting Family Feud-I don't think he would have time to host two game shows at one time. Todd Newton is very qualified to succeed Bob Barker, considering he's not only hosted The Price is Right: Live! at Bally's in Las Vegas, but he's actually attended tapings of the show and might very well have been taking notes on the show, too. If Fremantle selects Todd Newton as Bob Barker's successor, don't be surprised.
musicradio77 05-16-2007, 08:17 PM I hope Todd Newton will replace Bob Barker as the host and emcee of "The Price Is Right".
musicradio77 05-20-2007, 09:55 PM I found this clip where Bob Eubanks makes an appearance on "The Price Is Right". I hope Bob Eubanks will be taking over Bob Barker if he retires by June 15th. Here it is.

DLevine2 06-18-2007, 09:22 PM I would like to see either George Hamilton or George Clooney host TPIR.
Dynomite 06-18-2007, 10:29 PM I would like to see either George Hamilton or George Clooney host TPIR.
Unlikely to happen-George Clooney is doing a good enough job in feature films and George Hamilton isn't game show hosting material.
Corolla 06-19-2007, 08:09 AM I wouldn't mind seeing Todd Newton. Anyone but Rosie, maybe even some gang member off the street would host it better than her.

I agree, big time! Todd Newton would be real good for TPIR, especially based on his credentials with TPIR Live in Las Vegas. Rosie would only destroy the show. As far as the next host of The Price is Right is concerned, all the way with Todd Newton.
mstewart 07-06-2007, 11:09 AM I think Wayne Brady would make a good successor to Bob Barker.
