The judges' choices were announced at the contestants' homecomings today. They are as follows:

Melinda Doolittle (chosen by Randy) - I Believe in You and Me [Whitney Houston]

Personal preferences aside, I think this is going to be a REALLY interesting night because these people all pretty much have an equal shot at winning. They all deserve to be in this top three...the best three singers/performers are left standing right now, IMO. :)

top 3 round might be the only unpredictable one this season. this is the first year where the final 2 isn't glaringly obvious. it all depends on performance. i think any 3 of them could go home, honestly.

Wow, they made Blake look taller. I didn't think it was possible.

I guess I'm one of the few that thinks it's predictable. It's pretty obvious to me it's going to be a Melinda/Jordin finale.

The TV Guide cover makes me laugh, mostly because Blake reminds me of a high school authority figure there for some reason. And Jordin and Melinda sort of look like they switched ages. :lol:

Tiny semi-spoiler / random prediction: Apparently Blake is excited for ALL his song choices this week and Kristi from the official Blaker Girls fan site said they were long overdue...Maybe it's just wishful thinking but I'm thinking one of them may be a Maroon 5 song since they're one of Blake's favorite bands and also because they're performing at the results show on Wednesday! :eek: I know a lot of Blake fans have been wanting him to sing Maroon 5 for a while but they've never cleared their songs for the show. However their appearance on this week's results may signal something...All I have to say is OMG, I hope I'm right.

Jordin #1 - it wasn't her best, but it was pretty good. ended better then it started.

Blake #1 - i actually thought he was really good. simon obviously just doesn't like him, lol. i like how he didnt change the song or anything, he's done it enough imo.

Melinda #1 - very good. not as good as i expected honestly, but she definitley got the first round.

Jordin- Not her best, still pretty good

Blake-He was really good
not as awesome as I expected and Randy picked an overdone artist/song for her

Jordin #2 - WTF at this song choice?!?! she did the best she could with it, i guess, but it's a crappy song choice. i liked the end a lot. overall it was good.

Blake #2 - i LOVED this song 2 years ago. he's doing pretty well with it. not the best he could've done with it but pretty good nonetheless.

Jordin #3 - amazing. eff simon, this is a singing competition/competition to find the next pop star, not a "WHO CAN SING THE NEWEST SONG????????" competition. and besides, melinda ALWAYS sings old songs.

Blake #3 - it's time for him to stop these "updated' songs until his CD is released. didnt like it.

so...it's pretty obvious they want a melinda/blake finale, in which i probably wont watch the top 2 performance round. i watched it last year with 2 people i didnt care about it and it was painful.

Jordin #3- If she was gonna pick her fav she'd done on the show I woulda picked Youll Never Walk Alone, but that was still awesome

I agree, it would make for a very boring finale. That's not the final two that I would want out of this choice of three, but unfortunately that is what I think is going to happen. I would much rather prefer a Melinda/Blake final.

Anyway, my opinion on tonight:

Jordin
#1 - Not that great but it was ok.
#2 - Pretty good job.
#3 - Very nice job. The best of her three.

Blake
#1 - I thought the song choice was really strange but he did a good job.
#2 - Did a really good job.
#3 - Awesome job. I've never heard that song before but I liked it. I loved how Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 was part of the song--that was so cool.

Melinda
#1 - Good job but not the best I've heard from her.
#2 - Good job.
#3 - Very nice job.

when you think about it, it kinda makes sense Jordin and Blake are the final 2. they both have huge fanbases, and their fans knew they were in trouble, so they voted 10x more then usual.

I think Melinda will sell more CD"s than either of the 2 finalists. She was by far the best singer the entire season. I just can't believe Blake outlasted Melinda and Lakisha . . . I always thought it would be those 2 in the finale.

I kinda agree there, and I think thats why theyre the final 2 actualyl its EXACTLY why

A Blake/Melinda finale would've been the best. The best vocalist vs. the best performer. Plus, they're both VERY different. Jordin's kind of in the middle in both aspects.

It's sad that people put so much emphasis on record sales. I think Melinda will be very successful even if she doesn't sell a lot...she'll still rack up Grammies and other awards for her CDs. I really wish her the best...she deserves all the success in the world, and I don't think anyone deserved to be in that finale more than she did. Good luck Melinda. Hopefully you prove all the naysayers wrong and become a big star! :)
