I just seen the commercial where Maureen McCormick seeks Dr. Phil's help with her father and brother. Apparently they are in turmoil and Maureen feels that things are tearing apart. She is very despondent. It didn't state what date the show would air in May.

Let us know when they have an airdate, Irene. I feel so bad for Maureen, what with her weight issues, her mother passing on, and putting her brother in a home. I understand what she is going through as I have battled both depression and anorexia in the past. My heart and prayers go out to Maureen and her family.

I am not sure. She talked abt her brother on Celebrity Fit Club and having to put him in a home because of his disability. She did this after their mother died.

Comedyfreak-I am sorry you lost your Mom, and now the house is going. The same thing happened to me last year when my Grandpa died. They sold his house where I lived that had been in our family for over 60 years.

I can't imagine what Maureen is going through. I think it is very difficult for a famous person because things that should be private are made public.

Ok, I got home at 4:30 and missed the beginning. What occurred? What is the issue among Maureen, her dad and her brother? I got from the second half that she is trying to get a conservatorship, but what is the cause for this? Who is manipulating who? Who is controlling who???? Damnit, I wanted to see this from the beginning. I can catch the rerun in two weeks when they air it again on the other channel, but I want to know NOW what happened.

I had to work so I recorded it. I think there must have been a helicopter overhead so the reception was crappy the first half hour or so. We live right by a hospital and the helicopters somehow interfere with the TV reception. It was really hard to make out but I got most of it. Maureen and her brother Michael talked to Dr. Phil and had a PI tail their father and other brother Kevin. The latter two are estranged from the rest of the family, and the confrontation Maureen had with them was videotaped. They cussed her out and called her sick, a liar, a drug user, accused her of abusing her daughter when she was little, etc. The father and brother were dressed identically in white and wore huge sunglasses. The brother looks just like Phil Spector, which makes it even creepier. Maureen and Michael think Kevin is brainwashing their father.

Dr. Phil concluded the show saying that he would continue to follow the story in the weeks and months to come. The subject of the special needs brother in a home didn't even come up, which surprised me. Maybe that's the next show...

Thank you for adding to this. I am really angry and feel so bad for Maureen. I know what she must feel. My boyfriend has a b*tch of a sister who is a chronic liar and spreads lies like a wildfire in the heat. :mad: She tried to control their late father and keep my boyfriend away. Thank you. That clears things up. This is a good example of why it is important to add the clause in one's will:

ANYONE WHO CONTESTS THIS WILL SHALL BE DISINHERITED.

It is more legal than that, but my father had a clause in his will regarding any one of us contesting his will. He did that not because of me and my sister...he did it because of his wife and the son he had from that wife.

What is sad abt this whole thing is that any monies that may be fought over by Maureen's brother Kevin, may end up being sucked up by the courts and lawyers fees.

Who appeared on the show with Maureen--just her brother Michael? If anyone can post pictures of the family, I'd like to see them--always like to see what people look like. (Our reception is so bad that we don't even get the local channels without cable. I wonder if rabbit ears might help, though.)

Regarding the remark made above abt Maureen, she doesn't look old. She is not young anymore. Everyone grows up. Maureen looks stressed and tired. Let's not forget she also appeared on Celebrity Fit Club and it is coming to its end and Maureen has reached her goal weight. She is looking GREAT!

That quote reminded me of an interview Maureen did a few years ago when a reporter asked her how she felt about growing older while Marcia stays forever young. Maureen replied, "It beats the alternative!"

I assume she means the alternative is dying young and not growing old at all.
I think she handled herself quite nicely.
