On the General Discussion Board there is a thread called "First Line/Last Line" that twisted its way off the topic to an interesting subject. It is more appropriate to be discussed here.

In the final scene of the series, in "The Ricardos Dedicate a Statue," some children are seen in the crowd. I have known for a long time that Desi Jr. was featured. Then I read in Bart Andrews' I Love Lucy Book that Lucie was there too. He listed their ages as 4 and 5-1/2.

I re-watched the scene and there was a dark-haired girl that could have been Lucie but I wasn't completely convinced. Other posters mentioned that it is not Lucie and she said so herself. She didn't remember doing it.

As I stated in the other thread, I thought it was odd that they would use Desi Jr. in the final scene of the series but some other girl instead of their own daughter!

Does anyone know anything else?

Unless it's some kind of conspiracy, the sixth season DVD says on the final set of production notes that contrary to popular belief, Lucie was not in that scene--- possibly a look-alike, but not her. Desi WAS there though. It could've been that she was sick or even camera-shy at the time, but why speculate? The simple fact is that, no, Lucie is not in ANY scene of ANY episode of ILL, and whoever is saying that it is her is wrong.

Thanks, TV DVD Fan! That clears things up for me. I looked at the production notes on the DVD and it is clear as day. I am really disappointed that there is misinformation in The I Love Lucy Book by Bart Andrews. I considered that to be the best ILL source for complete and accurate information; Jess Oppenheimer even wrote the foreward. Now my confidence is shattered and I won't completely trust anything in that book again.

(Irene, remember the photo on page 314)? :(

Thanx Madame for this thread. I read that Bart book thru and thru 3 times. I seen that scene many times since reading that same passage you are referring to and I couldn't believe that was Lucie. I was like "huh?"....you are so good at bringing up things that I have been wondering abt for years.

TV DVD fan, thanx for the follow-up info you posted. Now, I am really wondering abt the stuff in that book.
