I would just like to warn everyone who frequent this board that there's a scam in operation by the people who go by the e-mail address of tvshowstore@yahoo.com. The woman's name who uses that e-mail address is Maria Helena and she lives in Brazil. I was contacted by that person awhile ago after I posted a message on this board saying that I was interested in obtaining the sitcom "Cybill" on DVD. She said she had the complete set of Cybill but in order to obtain that set from her, she wanted me to purchase 10 movies on VHS from either E-bay or Amazon and then trade them for the Cybill disc set. I answered her and said that would be too expensive so I declined the offer. She answered back and said she would require only three of those movies on VHS instead so thinking that would be more reasonable price-wise, I accepted. But then thinking that she had me on the hook, she quickly raised the movie total to five! That upset me but thinking that would be the only way to obtain the Cybill set, I accepted that offer as well.
She then informed me that she had picked out the specific ones she wanted on Amazon (as far as in what condition and from which dealer) so I ordered the five ones she wanted. When they all arrived in the mail, I packed them up (as per her instructions as far as bubble wrap and writing on the packing slip that the order was for her "private collection" so she wouldn't have to pay a tarif) and shipped them to Brazil for a whopping price of $38.00! (She also kept her location of Brazil a secret until I had agreed to the five movie deal!) I was also kind enough to provide her with a tracking number so she could keep track of the package until it arrived safely at her location. She then e-mailed me and told me the package had arrived and she was pleased with all five movies.
She then told me she had the Cybill disc set ready to ship but there was a catch. In order to receive the Cybill disc set, I was to order more movies for her! And then I would not only receive the Cybill set but she would also throw in two more TV shows on discs that I wasn't interested in. (She had provided a list of TV shows to choose from.) So I e-mailed her and said that I wasn't interested in any more TV shows on discs and to please just ship me the Cybill disc set as per our agreement. That was six days ago and I haven't heard from her since. I also don't have the Cybill disc set. I have contacted her several times in that time. I have even threatened her with legal action but all I've received from her is silence. She also has a partner who goes by the name "Alex." So beware of that name, too. I have contacted my local congressman and I'm waiting for his advice on this situation. I'm also planning to contact lawyers and other political leaders so I can receive some kind of justice for the blatant scam that's been done to me. I spent well over a hundred dollars for those movies plus the postage to ship them. So let everyone be warned about these people. Be very careful who you deal with!
