TV Guide's Michael Ausiello says the Clarice Starling version of "Veronica Mars" - the one that would be set years in the future at the FBI academy in Quantico, Va. - is garnering more interest over at The CW. The show would strip off all of Veronica's supporting cast and perhaps even assume a new title. "FBI Girl"? "Veronica Fed"?

“Mars” mastermind Rob Thomas pitched the FBI fourth season to the network last Wednesday, along with a proposal for Veronica's sophomore year at Hearst College (which obviously would not leap years ahead).

That's just stupid!This just should be the last season before people stop watching it and it starts losing viewers then gets cancelled!I don't want that to happen to both Veronica Mars and One Tree Hill:mad:

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The CW drama "Veronica Mars" is inching closer to a renewal for a fourth season after a trailer for the proposed revamped version of the series got a warm reception at the network, sources said.

The new season would fast-forward a couple of years, and find the title character (Kristen Bell) studying at the FBI Academy.

The cult favorite had been on the verge of cancellation, but its fortunes have improved significantly in the past week with the announcement that "Gilmore Girls" won't be coming back and because of "Mars" creator Rob Thomas' well-received fourth-season idea.
