Pamela Bach, the former wife of David Hasselhoff, says the now infamous video of a David Hasselhoff reveals a secret she's kept for her nearly 17-year marriage - her ex-husband is an alcoholic.
Now in an INSIDE EDITION exclusive, Bach finally goes on the record about the tape that has shocked the world.
She said watching the video was "indescribable," and said that she still loves Hasselhoff. "I loved David. I always will love David. I hate that disease," she said.
Bach said Hasselhoff called her on Saturday, ranting and raving that the tape was released. Their eldest daughter, 17-year-old Taylor shot the tape two weeks ago in Las Vegas, and now INSIDE EDITION has learned that their other daughter, 14-year-old Hailey, was there as well.
During the interview with INSIDE EDITION, Bach received a call from Taylor, who Bach says was upset that she is talking about the tape.
The tape shows the Baywatch star at his worst - sprawled on a hotel room floor, bare-chested, incoherent and unable even to eat a Wendy's cheeseburger.
Bach said Taylor made the tape because nobody is helping them. The real issue, Bach says, is that their father has a horrible disease and they want him around.
Only hours before the interview with INSIDE EDITION, a Los Angeles judge thought the tape was so disturbing that he temporarily suspended Hasselhoff from seeing his daughters.
Asked if she thought Hasselhoff was a danger to his daughters in his drunken state, Bach said, "When he's inebriated he can't tell the three of us apart. I saw that the last time we were on vacation together."
INSIDE EDITION contacted David Hasselhoff's attorney who claims it is Bach who has the substance abuse problem, something Bach denies.
Hasselhoff has a book coming out next week in which he reveals his addiction to alcohol began back in the 1970s.
Bach describes Hasselhoff as "a good man," but "riddled with the disease," and said that she has been keeping his secret for their whole marriage. Bach says Hasselhoff has been in rehab three times during their marriage. She hopes the videotape forces him to return and finally get the help he so desperately needs.
"It's a scar for David, it's a scar for me, it's a scar for Hailey and a scar for Taylor," she said. "I'm trying to prevent any more scarring... that's why I'm fighting for custody until he gets better."
