View Full Version : First Line, Last Line
Madame X 05-08-2007, 04:55 PM For those of us who have tapes or DVDs of our favorite shows, who can supply the first line and the last line of the series? I hope to hear the classics like Bewitched, Brady Bunch, M*A*S*H, Leave it to Beaver, I Dream of Jeannie, Gilligan's Island, Andy Griffith, Jeffersons, Golden Girls, Beverly Hillbillies, etc., or whatever you have.
Let's skip the pilot episodes because they are usually different from the actual show.
I'll start (this is all I have).
I Love Lucy
1st-Ethel: "Here, you missed something on this one."
Last-Lucy: "Shoot if you must this old red head."
The Honeymooners-Classic 39
1st-Trixie: "Hi, Alice."
Last-Alice: "I know I've got seven, here."
The Adventures of Superman
1st-Announcer: "Come with us now on a far journey."
Last-?????
Brady Bunch
1st-?????
Last-Oliver: "Me, Cousin Oliver...Gosh it was only a suggestion!"
Leave it to Beaver
1st-Whitey: "What did she do to you, Beaver?"
Last-?????

Janet: Chrissy, please have a little respect for the dying. (That was ironic:lol: )
I'll type the last line when I think of it.

wuz that really the last line of ILL?!
omg... ohh.... that old red head!
and i say that with much affection for that loony lady!
Gilligan's Island:
... not entirely sure... but i think the show begins and ends with the Skipper yelling, "GILLIGAN!"
i may be wrong though... but i know the final scene of the show has Skipper and Gilligan getting twisted up in their hammocks and the skipper's hat meeting Gilligan's head!
:D
catlover79 05-08-2007, 10:54 PM First line: Bewitched (1964) (narrator): Once upon a time, there was a typical American girl...who happened to bump into a typical red-blooded American boy.
First line spoken by a regular character: Samantha: Mother!
Last line (1972): Sam to Darrin: I love you, and that is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

It was when the town discovered that she posed as the minuteman statue that she destroyed. Ricky mumbles something in Spanish to quiet the crowd, but Lucy had the final audible line.
treky 05-09-2007, 02:57 AM first line in THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES was Mr. Drysdale saying "Welcome, welcome"! And the last line was Miss Hathaway saying "We's gonna ketch us a soo-flait"!

Yes, and it also featured Lucie (5-1/2) and Desi Jr. (4) in the final scene as kids in the crowd.

I read somewhere that that wasn't Lucie. Anyone know for positive?
treky 05-10-2007, 01:43 AM yes; I remember hearing Lucie Arnez say that in an interview. She said that for years she'd been hearing that it is her, but she'd never seen the episode so she wasn't sure; because she doesn't remember filming that. Then, she finnaly saw the episode on TV LAND or somewhere, and she imediattly recognozed it as a friend of hers back then-so it's NOT her.

I knew about Desi Jr. from before. In Bart Andrews' I Love Lucy Book, it is stated that it was Lucie. I watched it again and there was a girl that could have been her but I wasn't completely convinced. It seems strange that they would use Desi Jr. in the final scene of the series and use some other girl instead of Lucie!
treky 05-10-2007, 03:42 PM well; all I know is; Lucie has said it's not her. And she should know what she looks like!
treky 05-10-2007, 03:47 PM the first line in MASH was "Dear dad, Hawkeye here" and I forget what the last line was.
sunshinefizzy 05-26-2007, 08:36 PM Last line to three's company:
Mr. Bradford: Say hello to your new landlord.
Then begins the Three's a Crowd bull****!!!
