DENVER - Police are investigating the death of an apparently severely abused and neglected 7-year-old boy who was allegedly kept locked in a closet.
Denver Police discovered the body of the boy, who has not yet been identified, on Sunday at an apartment in Denver. Police sources tell 9NEWS the boy weighed only about 30 pounds and appeared severely malnourished.
It is not yet clear who was responsible for the child's condition.
"It's pretty tragic," said one officer who responded to the scene and asked not be named.
The Denver District Attorney's office will be reviewing the case for charges, an official said
