I heard the first season one and the second season. I liked the first season one much better.

Well, in terms of just the actual song you hear and not the credits you see, there are six versions. Keep in mind that does not take into account any shortened versions that may have been used.

Here is the rundown:

The two Early to rise/early to bed versions:

1976-1977
1977-1978

The Use to be sad/use to be shy versions:

1978-1979
1979-1980
1980-1981
1981-1985

There's 9 variations. First season, a long version, and a shortened version. Second season, there's a long version, and a short version, but the short version is a new recording, not just a shortened version of the long one. 3rd season, there's two variations of the same one, with one being more 'echoey' and the "So Sweet" part at the end is different. After that, 4th had a new one, 5th had a new one, then another new one on the 6th season, used thru the end of the series. Probably more than you wanted to know :) :lol:

I actually find it fascinating. I wonder why so many variations?
