I know it was about a BEVERLY HILLBILLIES-like family who moved to "modern-day" California, or somewhere. But, that's all I know. Beleive it or not; I've never seen it-and I'm 49!!!
So, can someone enlighten me, also tell me all the details, what network it was on, who stared, etc, etc, etc. Thanx!

It was about a family from W. Virginia that inherited a farm in CA. Not a "traditional" family, a grandfather, his 3 grandchildren and the oldest grandson's wife, whom were married just before they left to come to CA.
Go to www.tvtome.com and type in "the real mccoys" there's a better explanation and you can also read the episode descriptions. Hope this helps.

Its been years since I've seen this show. I wouldn't mind watching it on tv again but I'm not sure I'd want to buy the DVD. Grand-pappy Amos was kind of funny though.

This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. It had been 30 years before I ever saw it again. Last time I saw it was in the '60's. Then miraculously I saw it listed in the TV Guide as being shown on the then TNN station. Thankfully I immediately started taping them and now am proud to say I have all episodes on DVD. But I still can't wait to buy the new commercial DVD release as this will be uncut episodes!! Yes, the Real McCoys was one of the best, can't wait to see the new DVD set in July!!:)

I've finally received my first season DVD. The first show is uncut, but the rest are edited. Each episode is less than 23 minutes. The quality is good, but I have some tapes from years ago that are as good and some better in quality. The compay says they have rights to all the shows and will release the other seasons too, and this is good news. It's a shame they couldn't be the full run time instead of cut three to four mintes.

Coincidentally, I just now opened the package I got in the mail from Deep Discount and I now have my Real McCoys 1st Season set too!!!! I recorded the whole series from TNN, but I was really looking forward to getting uncut episodes of Real McCoys. I sincerely hope you're mistaken when you say all episodes except the 1st are the syndicated versions. It's the syndicated TNN shows that I have already. I haven't even opened box yet and haven't seen any of the shows yet so I can't tell if these are uncut or not till I watch. But it's a disappointment, to say the least, if these are edited.

I also got the commercially released Guns Of Will Sonnett series on DVD. That DVD series was also only the edited versions!!! What is it with these people in charge of the Walter Brennan TV video programs, why do they only put out the edited syndicated versions? This is an outrage!

Yes, it is an outrage. If other shows from the 50's can put out unedited shows, then why not all? Rawhide is unedited and the quality is great. I have tapes from TNN also and have over 100 episodes. I stopped taping them when "kate" left the show. I probably will keep buying the edited shows just to have all of the shows.
