Taken from Spinner (http://www.spinner.com):

Thirteen years after Kurt Cobain's death, Courtney Love is making a commitment to move on, by selling her late husband's belongings.

"I'm going to have a Christie's auction," she tells Spinner. "[My house] is like a mausoleum. My daughter [14-year-old Frances Bean] doesn't need to inherit a giant Hefty bag full of flannel f***ing shirts ... A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to 'Teen Spirit' -- that's what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we'll just f***ing sell."

Love says her friends are supportive of the idea. "Everyone's been positive and behind me on it," she says. "We'll make a lot of money and give a bunch of it to charity."

--------------------------------------

I'm sorry but this really bugs me. How is it Frances only gets three things of her father??? I know you get to a point where it really is time to move on but it just seems so tasteless how Love is going about it. I myself can't stand her and think this is just another way to get the media on her so she can promote her new album coming out. Didn't she get enough money selling his journals?!!!

And do you really think that most fans will be able to afford buying anything? Not everyone has a few grand to throw down on a flannel shirt, and the ones that will buy his belongings most likely won't even really appreciate it. Put his stuff in a rock museum on display for EVERYONE to enjoy it and not just the people who can afford buying the stuff. I think if his stuff should go anywhere it should be put on hold until Frances is 18 and can decide what SHE wants to do with her father's things. Love waited this long to get rid of the things, I think she can wait another few years.

I don't really feel like arguing with anyone about this but if you feel the need to put your $.02 in, go for it. I'm not a huge Nirvana fanatic but I have much respect for Kurt Cobain. I just feel it's not that she needs to move on cuz I think she did that long ago, I just don't think she can handle the guilt of his stuff around. I'm not saying she killed Kurt so don't imply that.. but what I am saying is I didn't see her help keep the guy alive...

Doesn't surprise me a bit with her.

As a matter of fact, I still have questions about her involvement in his death. There's just something not right there.

She claims she sleeps in his pyjamas still - I hardly think so - probably whatever piece of clothing is left on (if any) after a hard night's partying is all she wears.
