It seems nearly probable that Barry Bonds will pass Hank Aaron's all-time record for home runs before too long. This is all fine and dandy, but people are going to question whether or not he's doing it without the benefit of illegal performance enhancers. I'm not really looking forward to him passing Hammering Hank. I'm more focused on next month's MLB Game of the Week, when the San Francisco Giants visit Fenway Park for an interleague game against the Boston Red Sox. Barry Bonds, in all likelihood, will play the role of DH, but the real competition will be between him and David "Big Papi" Ortiz as to who'll hit a home run, first, and, can Bonds hit a home run over the "Big Green Monster"? There'll be all kinds of storylines to be told in that three-game interleague series between these two coastal teams.

That's what turned me off MLB -- all these players cheating with steroids and such, and the bigwigs turning the other way. Just so long as all the money comes in...

Senior, you are totally right: Hank Aaron is indeed a class act. Pro sports sure could use more people like him...

Bonds doesn't deserve to be home run champ.
He's a liar and a cheat.

I wish someone would drill him in his knee and put him on the DL for a loooooong time. A classless guy doesn't deserve to break the record of a classy guy like Hank.

He doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Hank or Ruth.

He is a total cheat, there is no way in hell he did not use HGH. Someone's head does not grow when you are in your 30's. He will be booed mercilessly in any ball park if he breaks the record on the road.
