LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Wilmer Valderrama has signed a first-look deal with the producer of "American Idol" to develop scripted and reality projects.
Valderrama, who will serve as executive producer and might star in certain projects, will set up offices in FremantleMedia North America's Burbank headquarters.
Best known as Fez on Fox's "That '70s Show," Valderrama most recently appeared on the big screen in "Fast Food Nation." He also is the creator, producer and host of the MTV series "Yo Momma," now in its third season, and voices title role in Disney Channel's animated series "Handy Manny."
Next up, Valderrama is attached to star as Ponch in Warner Bros. Pictures' feature film version of "CHiPs," and his production company, WV Enterprises, is developing "PartyBuddys" with Universal Pictures.
