View Full Version : Was there suppose to have a scene with Greg & Marcia kissing!? bgm80 05-01-2007, 06:57 PM I saw that on "Growing Up Brady" DVD that they did a scene about this, but it never aired? Rich3 05-01-2007, 07:16 PM According to Barry, at some point in the series he and Maureen were so in love with each other that they couldn't keep their hands off each other. Even when they were trying to film serious scenes. NotMyNewsChannel3 05-03-2007, 12:04 PM I saw that on "Growing Up Brady" DVD that they did a scene about this, but it never aired? Was it actually a scene suppose to happen, and they cut of at the last minute? what's the story about this?? I don't think that scene was supposed to happen. The show wasn't THAT weird. (Then again...) Scoobiedoo30 05-03-2007, 02:46 PM I dont know if that was susposed to happen KenanKel 05-03-2007, 10:02 PM I dont know if that was susposed to happen Nearly ten thousand useless posts. Waterston_Fan 05-04-2007, 06:03 PM Nearly ten thousand useless posts. No, she and others have a right to post whatever they want. :) I don't think it did happen though, it would be too werid.. CarolynMJ1977 05-05-2007, 06:04 PM NO, That NEVER was supposed to happen. That Growing up Brady Movie was so off! If you watch the Brady Home Movie DVD and listen to Susan Olsen and Mike Lookingland talk about it - The Brady Kids didn't run wild and steal props and such either....Also if you buy and read Barry Williams book Growing Up Brady or go to Barry Williams site - You can see his answers to this question. Barry and Marcia dated off and on during seasons 3-5. And no there was never supposed to be a scene on TV aired of them kissing. NO WAY! If you go to Barry's site - He does answer fans questions. Its awesome. And the Growing up Brady book and Growing up Brady Movie were NOTHING alike. I am going by what Barry Williams says in his book. And did you know that Maureen's first kiss was with Barry but it took place on a beach in Hawaii. Not on the backlots of the Brady Bunch. bgm80 05-16-2007, 06:19 PM Thanks for your replies, people. The reason I asked, was I thought they were suppose to have a scene, and they might have removed it at the last minute. Cause when you think about it, they're not really bro/sis. Another reason I asked, is because the second movie of Brady Bunch from 1996 I think, you could see there was an attraction between Greg & Marcia... They usually make spoofs of the original series. I'm deaf, so I couldn't really understand what they said in the movie, and it's not even closed-caption, but I did buy the book on ebay 2 weeks ago, still readiing it! Thanks!! Rich3 05-16-2007, 06:57 PM There was attraction between Barry and Maureem, but fortunately that never made it into the show as an incest factor. TripperFan 05-16-2007, 07:01 PM There was attraction between Barry and Maureem, but fortunately that never made it into the show as an incest factor. and Thank God for that! bgm80 05-17-2007, 06:15 PM hahaha well, that's my point.. it's really NOT incest, since they aren't even realated by blood.. their parents just got married, that's it. I already heard of that before lol Dr. Thong 05-17-2007, 06:30 PM hahaha well, that's my point.. it's really NOT incest, since they aren't even related by blood.. their parents just got married, that's it. I already heard of that before lol Technically you are correct. It wouldn't have been incest. However, it would have been weird, as they never referred to the boys' mom or the girls' Dad after the first episode. Besides, if you want to see this angle of the Greg/Marcia relationship explored, rent the movie A Very Brady Sequel. If Greg and Marcia hooked up on the original series, you would have seen Rod Serling come out of nowhere and say "You have just stepped into...the Twilight Zone." Actually it did make it into the show once, but not because it was written in. In "Getting Greg's Goat" if you look close enough, you'll see "Marcia" smack her lips at "Greg." It happens when she is up in his room and he's showing her the goat. He tells her to shut the door when she leaves, and she turns and smacks her lips at him as she's leaving. It's not very noticeable, but it's there. Yes, it's true...looks like there was definitely something there. It's hard to capture the moment in a screen cap...but here they are... Marcia's mouth was kind of doing funny things in this scene... that's the first picture. The second pic shows her smacking her lips at Greg. The third pic shows Greg's reaction as she walks away. He immediately smiled as soon as she smacked her lips at him. And Marcia has kind of a smug look on her face as well. It is hard to see, but you can see it if you know it's coming. It happens real fast though...I had to slow the DVD down to get the screen cap at just the right moment. SKay 05-23-2007, 10:42 PM Sorry to make you all have to watch that episode. Thanks for the pics, Tweety. The odd thing is that I actually heard it before I saw it. (I must have had the sound turned way up on the TV or something.) I had to go back and watch for it after I heard it. (I must have had the sound turned way up on the TV or something.) I had to go back and watch for it after I heard it. That's funny! It's just amazing what people continue to find in watching episodes of this show...whether it's bloopers, or little things like this... It's fun seeing all these things we never noticed in the pre-VCR days of the show's original run. For anyone who wants to try to find this particular Marcia/Greg moment, I think it happens at about 8 min and 50 sec into the episode. Lucy&BradyFan 06-04-2007, 07:05 AM Yeah, it probably did happen - but of course, they wouldnt have aired the actual thing! LOL. Nothing more weirder than seeing a brother pash his sister ewwww Ohio8 06-24-2007, 03:59 PM I watched it yesterday, and I definitely saw (and heard) it. ;) Mikado 06-24-2007, 06:17 PM those pics dont look like a lip smack to me but, maybe id need to see a moving clip to decide one way, or the other Tweety 12-08-2007, 09:27 PM those pics dont look like a lip smack to me but, maybe id need to see a moving clip to decide one way, or the other This is a late response, but you really do have to watch the episode to notice it... On my player that I use for screen caps, there's a slight delay between the time I hit "snapshot" and the pic actually being taken. If I "listen" for it, I wouldn't be able to get the timing down to capture the exact moment... I got these shots by playing it either at 1/2 or 1/4 speed...but when I do THAT, there's no sound, so the whole thing is guesswork... But the "smack" is definitely there. Incidentally, I use "VLC Media Player" to get screen caps... someone here at Sitcoms online mentioned it (probably sometime last year) because Windows Media player doesn't, or didn't, allow you to get good screen caps at that time. VLC does the trick very well, and it's a free download...in case anyone's interested. Just thought I'd pass that along. Dr. Thong 12-09-2007, 01:55 PM The uptight US censorship was still in place in the early '70s, despite such groundbreaking shows like All In The Family and M*A*S*H pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable. Still, a stepbrother and stepsister kissing like that would have still been taboo, especially on such a harmless show like The Brady Bunch. And I doubt strongly that Sherwood Schwartz would have remotely considered it. Hmmm, this gets me to wondering: A lot of porn spoofs movie and TV shows - I wonder if they ever did a porn version of The Brady Bunch. It wouldn't surprise me if that were the case. Not at all.
