I mean that would have been a good idea I think, Lionel and Jenny having their own Show, we see His Job, and give Jenny a Girlfriend. I'm sure it would have last more than 4 weeks-lol

Nope, that would have been very boring, Jenny and Lionel on their own equals boring.

Just because they make a cute couple doesn't mean that they'll make a good sitcom. But it would've been interesting to see at least.

TV guide predicted in 1975 that the Lionel character would get his own show eventually, but at the time they had no idea the actor who played Lionel would leave the show after season 1

That idea could have worked if Mike Evans wanted to do it. The Separation pt2 has a very good scene with them in their apartment. They had a chemistry, although Berlinda Tolbert was not that strong a part of the Jeffersons, if they cast the right person as the girlfriend or other supporting cast it might have been a watchable show. The way it turned out those 2 could have carried a show more than that weak Checking In series which was the wrong vehicle for Marla Gibbs. In 1971 there was a tv version of Barefoot in the Park with African American actors that flopped after 13 weeks. Lionel and Jenny would've been a better bet for a young black couple sitcom.

C'mon Solomon, you are smart enough to know that Lionel from All in the Family was way different from Lionel on the Jeffersons.

They were just two boring people, they were too goody goody. Also the episode when they had split up and they were in their apartment cooking, that was soooooooooooooooo BORING. The only exciting part was the fire.

That's true, but they would have had to had a very good supporting cast. Sort of like what Alice has. Boring lead character, excellent supporting cast. It could have been successful if gotten off the ground.

Usually when Two Characters are spinned off it's a success, kind of like

George and Weezy

Laverne and Shirley

I agree with the chemistry that Mike Evans and Berlinda Tolbert had. It was good and they looked like they could had been married in real life. If they made Jenny more interesting instead of plain. Berlinda Tolbert was a hottie especially in season 6. That haircut of hers on season 7 was horrible.

A spinoff with Lionel Jenny and Florence would have been great
