That Joe Torre maybe FIRED!! Just heard this on ESPN. Well the yanks are 8-13 and yeah I don't think Steinbrenner would be to thrilled to get beaten 6 times in a row by his bigggest rival and start the Week at 8-15-LOL

It is not all his fault. There is no pitching.

Well that maybe true but you and I know when THE NUMBERS ARE NOT LOOKING RIGHT, something has to change.

Joe should have walked away last year when he had the chance. Now the team is in a slump (you're right Brian, they have no pitching, but i haven't seen too many yanks rounding the bases lately) someone will have to take the blame.

Joe's time is done. They need a new leader to light some fire under these guys.

Yeah that's the nature of the business, the Manager/Coach will get the blame if the numbers are unattrractive-lol

I think he needs to be held accountable for his mishandiling of the bullpen

I still think he shouldn't take the blame. Besides, who are you going to get to replace a hall of Fame manager?

Good pitching today by Igawa. If he can continue this, the Yankees will be in good shape because Pettitte, Wang and Mussina will be a good top three. Hughes will grow as the season progresses...not bad for a 5th starter. Pavano will return eventually and he can be good, too, when healthy.

Mussina returns this week!

Torre's job is safe for now..

The Yankees pitching staff had better screw thier stuff together...

But they are still the best baseball team EVER!

No, actually, the Mets are doing very good too...

;)

To be honest, anything less than a world championship will not satisfy him.

This is just April. Calm down...the pitching staff will be all healthy very soon. We'll see what happens then. The Yankees have been 10-14 at the end of April before and still won their division.

Yeah but they are 1-5 against the Red Sox, that's why George is Not in a Good Mood-lol

I saw another statement on ESPN with him saying that he has confidence that everything will turn around and the Yankees will win a championship

Translation-"If the Yanks don't reach or Win the Championship, Joe Torre and Cashman are FIRED

This is Torre's final year of his contract. I think Steinbrenner really wants Don Mattingly as his manager.

It's true, Steinbrenner really wants Mattingly. I have no idea why.
