View Full Version : Weekend Coffee Chat!
Janice 04-28-2007, 02:08 AM Happy Weekend, early risers! I can sum up my weekend plans in one word: Nothing, lol. My husband has baseball all weekend. We'll order in. No company. I can't remember the last time I was this excited over absolutely nothing.
swedeace 04-28-2007, 02:13 AM Only 12 minutes into Saturday, thusfar, and I am feeling crappy. This is supposed to be a fun-filled weekend...I hope. I am just in dire need for people's opinions in my "What would you think if you saw this?" thread I created. I can't sleep until I get some closure! *cries*
AllIWantIsYourClutch 04-28-2007, 02:57 AM It's weird that it's the weekend because I've been home from school since Wednesday. So it's felt like the weekend for the last 3 days. Anyway...ignore me.
freshprinceofLA 04-28-2007, 03:45 AM Its 12:44 am here in LA and I have no idea what I'm going to do. I know im having a dental appointment and watching the nfl draft but that's all I think I'll add more things to my plan as the day goes on.
Good morning fellow Sitcommers.
I'm coming to you from my parent's condo deep in the heart of New Jersey.
I took a train home last night to have dinner with my family for my Sister's birthday. She really liked the picture frame i made for her.We went to a local Japanese place where they chefs cook the food right at the table - a very fun experience. The food was pretty good too.
We went back to my sister's house for cake and coffee, and to watch the Yankees lose. I can't believe how terrible the Yanks are doing. Actually, I can! We need pitching!
Anyhoo, I'm probably going to hang around here for a few more hours. I have to hit up a nearby arts and craft store for a few items i need for projects, then I hope to make it back into the city to catch the game.
I think i'll start my rain dance now.
;)
Brian Damage 04-28-2007, 11:05 AM I am headed to a cousin's communion. Then, the kids will head off to the in-laws so Jenn and I can get so much needed R & R. ;)
Courtnee 04-28-2007, 11:08 AM Lets see, My brother wants to go see Ghost Rider here on base, so we're going to do that at about noon-ish. I need to work on my SC posters and speech.
That's about it.
gilligan fanatic 04-28-2007, 11:12 AM Well I have my prom tonight. I am going to pick my date up for dinner around 5. The dance starts at 7 so we have plenty of time to eat. She wants to eat at this restaurant in old town so we are going there. After the dance we are going to the after prom our school sponsors at the arcade. I will be gone most of the day today.

aw, that's cool. Seniors here had their prom last night. It would make better sense to do it today, though; more time to get ready!
Number 9 Dream 04-28-2007, 11:16 AM Hello, SO-ers
I'm actually NOT working today, for once :D I took the day off because my friend Tiffany and I are taking a road trip to New Paltz, NY (only a 2 hour drive, but we plan on detouring and finding a place to eat lunch) to visit our friend Rose at college. It's going to be fun!
I'll be back Sunday evening, methinks :)
PZelda 04-28-2007, 11:18 AM Well, not a whole lot. JCPenney has pants on sale, and I want to get down there before the sale ends, so I'll do that in a bit.
I don't know what I'm doing for the rest of today.
gilligan fanatic 04-28-2007, 11:24 AM aw, that's cool. Seniors here had their prom last night. It would make better sense to do it today, though; more time to get ready!
Friday would stink-lol We get out of school at 2:15. I don't have to do much myself to get ready, but everyone would be so rushed. We had a baseball game yesterday too so some people wouldn't be able to go. One good thing I can think about having it Friday is having 2 nights to sleep in. I know I won't get home till late tomorrow. the After Prom ends like at 6 in the morning or something. We will probbably be there till at least 2 or 3.
Ireneparalegal 04-28-2007, 12:35 PM Well I have my prom tonight. I am going to pick my date up for dinner around 5. The dance starts at 7 so we have plenty of time to eat. She wants to eat at this restaurant in old town so we are going there. After the dance we are going to the after prom our school sponsors at the arcade. I will be gone most of the day today.
My daughter has her senior prom today also. She is at work til 3pm and she will head out the door around 5:30pm.
Also, we are soon going to get ready for our FIRST BARBECUE IN OUR NEW BACKYARD. It took us a while to get things done in the backyard. It has cement but there is an area that needs new grass, so we will be putting in our new sod next week. I put in a lot of new plants and trees this week. I have this plan in my head for a zen garden. I love oriental stuff and my theme in my backyard will be an asian theme. We will have a fountain installed in two months and a two statues, one of buddha. I just want it lush green and plenty of color from the flowers and roses that I have begun to plant. Also we got a new patio table and chairs. I am just excited to have friends and family over this afternoon so they can see what we did on our backyard.
MonarC 04-28-2007, 12:37 PM Well my hubby is working all weekend. So I will probably head over to my folks house a little later. They love to see their grand baby boy. I told my dad I would help him paint the new fence he is putting up around their house too. Then I will make sure to watch the Spurs play tonight. My day is full. :D Have a great day everyone.

Are you in South Jersey, North Jersey or Central Jersey?
PZelda 04-28-2007, 03:16 PM Well, I went shopping and found a pair of pants that I liked within two minutes of walking through the door. But it took me 20 minutes to get into the changing room to make sure it fit, AND to pay for it, because the crowds @ JCPenney was simply awful. They really REALLY need more dressing rooms, lol.
Oh, and I found this book (http://www.rdstore.com/product_detail.cfm?pid=2308) @ Target for $12. HELL ****ING YEAH.
It's been in the nineties the last few days, which is nice, but it would be nicer if the air conditioning in my house wasn't on the fritz. They're coming in to fix it next week, so that's good.
Today, I'm going to a birthday party/backdoor barbecue. I'll be leaving for that in about an hour, after which some friends and I are going to go see Next.
Besides church and laundry, I'm not sure what's on my agenda tomorrow.
swedeace 04-28-2007, 03:54 PM I just spent my entire morning walking four miles at the MS charity walk. I went with my mom and my sister. After that, we grabbed extra water bottles, juices, and granola bars to take back home. It's now 1:46 p.m., and I think I will take a nice nap before showering and attending an engagement party for my co-worker friend at 6 p.m. this evening. It's going to be semi-dress and semi-formal. I just hope I won't feel too weird about the compromising situation my co-worker friend and sister were in. :(
My legs got a good workout because I am beginning to feel sore! Wait until tomorrow when I walk five miles. I'll be ready! :D
Courtnee 04-28-2007, 04:06 PM I saw Ghost Rider today and Nick Cage is a sexy man-beast in that movie.
He can ride my ghost anyday! :D
Brieannas21 04-28-2007, 04:12 PM Are you in South Jersey, North Jersey or Central Jersey?
North
I have to attend a big Ol' meeting at 5 and then a lecture/dinner at 7, fun stuff lol

freshprinceofLA 04-28-2007, 05:22 PM Well so far I've watched the NFL draft and Had a dental appointment. Now me & family are off to the cemetary & go to church later. Then probably watch some NBA playoff games.
KayCee 04-28-2007, 05:32 PM good afternoon ya'll! :)
Brad Russ 04-28-2007, 05:54 PM My day has been pretty good so far. My mom got her tax return back the other day, and so today we took our dog Salem to the vet to see how much it'll cost to pull out a rotten tooth that's been bothering her for awhile now. The veterinarian did some blood work on her, and told us that the tooth definitely needs to be pulled, along with a few others. What we originally thought would cost about $250.00, is actually gonna be more around $1,300 dollars. Fortunately, you can pay in installments, so that's what my mom's gonna do. Salem looks so cute right now. She has these little yellow bandages on her legs from where he took the blood, and she looks just like Olivia Newton John from her music video Physical. LOL!! As soon as she came out, I started singing: Let's get physical, physical. Ha ha ha! Then I said to my mom, man, I've heard of a gym rat before, but I've never heard of a gym dog. That made her laugh.
After that, my mom and I stopped off at Dutch Bro's, for a couple raspberry mocha's to fully wake ourselves up, before heading to Albertson's to get some lunch. I stayed in the car while my mom went in, so that I could watch all the scantilly clad women entering and exiting the store on this warm Spring day. Ahh, I love this time of year!! ;)
Anyway, when I got home, I went into the backyard to pick up the neighbors dog poo again. It's not so bad now that I've started picking it up every other day, so it doesn't get too messy, but it's still pretty annoying.
Later on, I'm thinking of mowing the lawn, and I will probably get to work on organizing my garage, which is a complete disaster right now. Right now though, I'm going to eat my turkey sandwich, and watch the Wrestlemania DVD that I got in the mail today. I was so excited to recieve it, as I wasn't expecting it until sometime next week. Thank you so much to the person that sent it to me. That was a very kind gesture, and I soooo appreciate it!! :D I can't wait to try and see if I can spot myself in the audience. With 80,000 people, it'll be like looking for a needle in a haystack, but hey, I'm feeling pretty lucky today!! ;)
Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Yeah, that song sucks. Olivia sure is hot in the video though. But yeah, it's definitely one of those videos that's best watched with the volume turned down.
Courtnee 04-28-2007, 07:50 PM Get a room!
;)
GoldenGirlsFan92 04-29-2007, 12:37 AM Here is a New thread where you can tell what happned to you today.
Today was great. I went to the JazzFest with my Best Friend, his dad, and my dad. It was Sunny & beatiful. The best part was when my Best Friend and I saw Ludacris in Concert at the Jazzfest. It was very cool to see Ludacris LIVE!

Brad, I'm happy for Salem. Those teeth must be bothering the poor baby. That's a lot of money, but that's what we do for our fur babies. Vet bills can often be outrageous. When our cat Foxy got older, we literally spent thousands upon thousand of dollars to keep him healthy. He lived for almost four more years, so it was worth every penny, but it still wasn't long enough.
Mr. Stefani 04-29-2007, 01:29 AM My weekend sucked. I drove my drunk friends to a club tonight. Seeing as i'm not 21 yet and dont have an ID I havent been able to go out with them much lately. One year and 2 months to go.
Mr. Stefani 04-29-2007, 01:31 AM oh but I did go out to dinner with my mom tonight since my stepdad is in Florida and my brother and stepbrother were at work. It was good, we havent really gone out just the 2 of us in years.
EmoJoe 04-29-2007, 11:45 AM yesterday...erm well i went to my school because i needed a book for my homework and then i come home and did nothing. oh and i bought bread at the store with my dad! and then i...did nothing again. then i watched MADtv at 11. then i did nothing again. then i went to bed!
my life is SO EXCITING.

happy birthday! :)
well yesterday, i was off from work so i spent most of the day on the computer browsing the net. then in the late afternoon, i started playing warcraft and ended up playing that til like 1/1:30am then i went to bed. it was fun!
AllIWantIsYourClutch 04-29-2007, 01:39 PM Today I'm going to my a fundraiser for my mom's friend who has cancer and then my parents are taking me back to school. Since I've been home since Wednesday.
Brad Russ 04-29-2007, 01:47 PM Brad, I'm happy for Salem.
I know exactly what you mean. A couple years ago, Salem hurt her leg down at the river, and Carl had to carry her to the car on his shoulders. She was in alot of pain, and it costed $200.00 to get the pain pills she needed. I was the only one with money, and I didn't hesitate to put up the money to get her out of pain. She was better the next day, so some may say it was a waste, but she was out of the excrutiating pain she was in for that day, so that made it worthwhile for me. Like you said, when it comes to our pets, money should never be an issue!! With what our pets do for us, money is a small price to pay, to pay them back for their love, and loyalty!!
Brad Russ 04-29-2007, 01:57 PM Not a whole lot planned for me today. I'm going to the pet grooming place with my neighbor to help her wash and groom her dog in about a half an hour, but other than that, I just plan on laying on my ass, drinking generic soda, and watching basketball for the rest of the day, while listening to that annoying Pussycat Dolls song, "Right Now", which plays about 10,000 times during every NBA game these days. My day will likely end with me sticking pencils in my ears, trying to poke out my ear drums!! lol
Courtnee 04-29-2007, 02:03 PM I finally finished my campaign posters. :D
Brieannas21 04-29-2007, 02:07 PM Tomorrow I'm going to Stone Harbor, NJ. It's suppose to be a work free day but I don't see that happening at all.

Brieannas21 04-29-2007, 02:17 PM Is that North Jersey
No I believe it's at the tip of Jersey, it's down from Atlantic City.

Just got back from that, freakin HILARIOUS
Yooch 04-29-2007, 03:01 PM Just a beautiful day here in the California SF Bay Area! This morning I went to early worship service. It was contemporary, and planned and run by the Jr. High youth group, under the guidance of our youth minister. They did the music, the readings, the sermon (with DVD clips on big screen with commentary by the kids about some point the movie was showing, and how it related to our faith). I thought the service was inspiring.
