The only things I know (Might need confirmation):

- Bon Jovi will be the guest coach.

- The top 6 will be either singing songs from the Bon Jovi songbook or just rock songs in general. (Originally they were supposed to be singing 2 songs, but I think they'll only be singing one)

- The votes from this week will be combined with next week's and the bottom 2 contestants will be sent home (due to no one getting eliminated for Idol Gives Back).

that's so confusing and dumb. -_-

i like Rock and Bon Jovi. i think the guys should do pretty well with this theme...the girls might struggle, though.

IDF is now getting press releases saying that it's only Bon Jovi songs. And I agree, all the guys should pretty well.

No one better sing Wanted Dead or Alive.

Well, it's not Chris's song, it's Bon Jovi's. But maybe if she sings it, she'll leave.

Phil - another good performance from him. it bothered me he wasnt on stage until the second verse though :grr: lol. still though, very, very good. maybe his best yet.

EmoJoe
05-01-2007, 08:22 PM
Jordin - Not as bad as Simon said. Then again he admits he doesnt listen to the performances anyway. Anyway, it wasnt her best, but I love that song and she gets bonus points for singing it. Probably her worst yet, though. :(

EmoJoe
05-01-2007, 08:30 PM
LaKisha - well, it was way overrated by judges and audience. her voice didn't fit with the song...at all. she went from huge, unbelivable trainwreck to boring and odd. an improvement, i guess?

Blake - what the...? i didnt like it. too weird.

Phil- Another awesome performance!! I am really starting to like him more and more!

Jordin-Terrible performance. Definitely her worst yet.

LaKeisha- I thought it was a nice performance. She performed a song I had never heard before!

Blake-Yuck!! What the heck did he do to my favorite song? Yuck, yuck and double yuck!!

KissMyGrits
05-01-2007, 08:46 PM
Chris-WTF?!! He is no Chris Daughtry!!

EmoJoe
05-01-2007, 08:48 PM
Chris R - what the eff? how did this get praised? this was a complete and total diaster. i hated this. besides all of sanjaya's performance, i can honestly say this was one of my least favorite performances this season.

Melinda-Wow!! She totally blew me away!! I loved her performance!! I love the song and she made it her own from the first to the last note!!!

Melinda - another overrated performance tonight. that being said, it was better then i thought it would be.

Except for Phil, I totally agree. And I'm not even a fan of Blake.

Phil - Good vocal but I sort of felt a disconnection with the audience. He reminded me of a second-rate Daughtry tonight for sure, haha. But he was pretty good.

Jordin - I didn't think it was as bad as the judges thought and I did like the song, but it did feel a little manic. Not her worst, but my least favorite of the night.

Lakisha - Nice save! She did really well, one of her best performances of the season. I still want her to go home though, LOL.

Chris - I knew people would get on him for singing "Daughtry's" song. First of all, it's not Daughtry's song, it's Bon Jovi's. Second, the comparison to Sanjaya is atrocious (JACK  ). Third, it wasn't that bad. Vocally, it was all over the place, but I don't think it was his worst performance, or the worst of the season. I do agree it was overpraised.

Blake - domenowplease. Haha. But seriously. Amazing. He did his own thing with it and it sounded hip and very contemporary. I loved it, plain and simple.

Melinda - My second favorite of the night after Blake. Who says that Melinda isn't versatile? I loved her on this one. Reminded me of the attitude she brought on during country week. Shy little Melinda is coming out of her shell! I love it. :biglove:

I bet any combination of Chris/Phil/Lakisha are going home cuz Blake/Melinda/Jordin are pretty much shoo-ins for the top 3. Go have a field day when my favorite gets voted off. :mrtarver:

I'll rank mine in order from most favorite to least.

1. Phil- Another great peformance from him. I hope to hear him on country radio in the near future.
2. Melinda- I was worried about her doing a rock song, but she turned out amazing.
3. LaKisha- I've lost my love for her, but I thought she did a fabulous job last night.
4. Jordin- I was a little disappointed last night. I didn't think she sounded good at all. It definitely wasn't my favorite of her performances. It was definitely better than the song she sang during Latin Week. That has been my absolute least favorite theme so far this year.

HUGE GAP

5. Chris- I have to agree with Jack. I think he's the other Sanjaya this season. Sorry, but I don't understand the appeal at all. His voice gives me such a headache.
6. Blake- Hate the beatboxing, scatting, and all that other junk he does. Just sing the :censored: song!

EmoJoe

overall it was an OK episode, one of the better ones this season. i thought the performances weren't that great (and almost all of them were overrated by the judges, i mean, WTF? chris's disaster getting praised?), but at least it wasn't painfully boring like all of the other ones were.

i still say Chris and LaKisha are going home.

I only had a problem with Blake, his performance wasn't all that great, I know he was trying to make the song his own by adding in his favorite touch, but he needs to lay off of the beat boppin'.

i dont think Blake, Melinda, and Jordin are shoo-ins for the top 3. Melinda's votes have been slipping from what i hear (to Jordin), and top 4 week is just around the corner. think Daughtry.

As much as I love Phil, I wasn't surprised that he was voted off. He was in the bottom three almost every week. I knew there was no way he could outlast Blake, Jordin, Melinda, and LaKisha. I think he deserved to be in the top four instead of Blake or LaKisha, but that's just my opinion. I can't wait until his country music CD comes out.

As for Chris getting voted off, all I can say is THANK GOD!!!!!!! He won't be able to make my ears bleed anymore.

Putting my personal feelings aside, I honestly believe that Blake should have gone before Phil. I know that some fans applauded Blake Tuesday night for making Bon Jovi's song original and his own, but I thought he butchered it. Now Phil, the song that he sang, he did it perfectly. Phil always has heart and soul when singing the songs that he picks. I never saw that with Blake! JMPO!!

I agree. This is a singing competition, like Bon Jovi said, beat-boxing for sixteen measures is curious....
Maybe Blake and Chris should have gone down together...

actually, it's not really a singing competition, it's a competition to find the next big music star. being a music star takes vocal talent along with charisma and performance skills.

im not a Blake fan at all, just thought i'd point that out.

I wouldn't have minded that since I'm a Cake shipper :p. No, but seriously if they both went, I'd probably stop watching until the finale. They pretty much make the show for me.
