LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Queen Latifah will star in a remake of the Steve Martin-Lily Tomlin comedy "All of Me," one of the better entries in the body-switching genre

The 1984 film centered on a dying spoiled heiress (Tomlin) whose soul ends up in the body of a lawyer (Martin). She controls the right side of his body while he controls the left, which causes friction and comedy. Carl Reiner directed.

The new take would see the movie set in the world of politics, where a female Jesse Jackson-type finds herself in the body of a conservative.

The New Line Cinema project is out to writers. Adam Shankman, who directed Queen Latifah in the 2003 hit comedy "Bringing Down the House" as well as New Line's upcoming summer release "Hairspray," will serve as a producer. He is not attached to direct at this time.

Queen Latifah's recent credits include "Stranger than Fiction" and "Last Holiday."

i absolutely LOVED the original .....

I did not care for the original and thought it was kinda slow.
