Hugh Grant has been arrested and questioned by police after allegedly attacking a paparazzo and snarling, "I hope your kids die of f**king cancer."

The incident took place on Tuesday morning, when the Love Actually star lashed out at photographer Ian Whittaker for taking his picture in west London.

He is alleged to have hurled a container of baked beans at Whittaker before repeatedly kicking and swearing at him.

Grant's lawyers, Schillings, said an incident had taken place and was now under investigation.

A police spokeswoman confirmed a 46-year-old man had been arrested on Wednesday evening and questioned at a central London police station after an allegation of assault. He was bailed to return in May.

the guy is obviously a moron. this incident goes to prove that since he was caught with his pants down with hooker divine brown 12 years ago in the US, he has learned nothing about behaving in public. yes the media are sometimes a pest, but for him to react like that was rather silly. i never liked hugh grant anyway- either as an actor or a person, as he's always such a snob :snob: and so full of himself. that man's ego is unbelievably huge
