In the episode, 'The Failure,' a custmer complains that $1.10 is too much for eggs and chili. I realize this was 1976, but is that really a lot for that time?

Thinking back, it sounds so damn cheap. Yet, the girls were only making $3 an hour (something like that), so I guess you have to look at the bigger picture regarding hourly wages, the cost of living, etc.

Yeah, that's what I say too. I remember when people complained abt the cost of gas in that time. What was it, around 65 cents a gallon? :crazy: :lol: I would like to see those times again. :(

I remember an episode of The Waltons where John complained about gas being .18 a gallon. Of course that was during the depression era but still .18 :lol:

I wasn't even born until 1979, but a whole meal for $1.10, gas for less than a buck a gallon and bell-bottoms?? THOSE were the days!! :rofl:

I just thought of something, I didn't see the ALICE episode tonight, but maybe the guy was complaining abt paying THAT MUCH for Mel's chili. :lol:
