View Full Version : Question: How long is long enough?
pupil1313 04-24-2007, 04:54 PM Just a question, when you set up a trade with anyone, do you send at the same time if that other trader has a couple of positive feedbacks? I had a trade with Peanutbutter and we agreed to send on Wednesday, April 11th. Something came up with me, and I haven't sent 'till Friday, April 13th. I told him I will add 3 dvd's to our trade, just to say I am sorry for me sending them late, I even use Priority Mail. I checked usps.com and he got the package on 16th, Wednesday. The last message I got from him was on the 12th, today is already the 24th, still no dvd's from him. He said he mailed his end of the trade on April 11th, but I still don't have them. I mailed mine the 13th, I used delivery confirmation, I checked, he got them the 16th. We agreed on useing delivery confirmation, but he did not give me any, still no replied from him, I kept on sending him private message, still nothing. Can anyone help. Thanks.
robyrob 04-24-2007, 07:20 PM sometimes the mail can be slow, maybe there was a problem with the address or something - did he say that he didn't HAVE the conf #, or that he didn't get one?
may want to try to get in touch with him again, and see if he has the delcon #
Rascal 04-24-2007, 07:56 PM I know the part time postmaster at our post office made a mistake on one of my packages and the post office put it in quarantine for 30 days. Then it came back to me and I had to pay to send it again. I wouldn't have been upset if it would have been my mistake or even if I would have known where it was in the meantime. I too had delivery confirmation and all it would tell me is that it had been accepted at my post office. I guess after 9/11 the post office had to start attaching a sheet"Known Postal Customer" form to each and every one of the packages. SHE forgot to do this and I paid twice for the same package as well as putting my reputation on the line. Luckily it was a trade with someone I had traded with a few times before and he trusted me. Still it did not look good for me.
Zoneboy 04-24-2007, 08:41 PM If Peanutbutter also used priority mail and shipped on the 11th then they should've been there by now. If they were shipped media rate then they very well could still be in transit. Priority normally takes 2-3 days tops but I have had packages take up to 10 days and that is very rare. Media can take up to two weeks or longer.
As stated earlier, The DC # will help if the sender did in fact get one. A DC # is one thing I always insist on if I'm involved in a trade with anyone and I always get one for the person I'm trading with. I hope you get your dvd's soon.
T-Greg 04-24-2007, 09:33 PM Pupil13. I think you've been more than generous for adding the extra discs. Most of the time, people understand when things take an extra day or 2, because things come up in everyone's life. If someone does not send on time, it's sufficient to email and explain that it will be a couple of days late. Communication is the key. If Peanutbutter did not send, he should have at least emailed you to let you know what is going on. Maybe he has a valid excuse. We'll have to wait and see.
pupil1313 04-24-2007, 10:46 PM I haven't heard from him since the 12th, his last message to was he supposedly mailed his end of the trade on the 11th. I kept on sending him private message here, asking what kind of shipping and if he used a delivery confirmation, but to no avail. No response at all. He didn't even replied to my emails, before we set up the trade. We set up the trade, gave each others addresses, by sending ONLY private messages. A simple private message with any explanation could be good, but still nothing.
I guess I have nothing to do but wait. I always insist on having DC#'s also, even if I have been trading to that trader for quite a while. It's not about trust sometimes between traders, but because post offices tend to loose packages and using DC#'s is really a big help.
tick26 04-26-2007, 08:19 PM well i hope he comes through on his part. email is the key. maybe something unexpected happen where he can't get to a computer.
pupil1313 04-27-2007, 12:36 PM Still nothing from him, no emails, private messages or package in the mail...
The Flying Dutchmans 05-02-2007, 04:37 PM I have been buying and selling on ebay for a long time now, I just bought a cell phone battery from a seller with 99.5 % feedback on april 11th, this guy had very good feedback and still did not send my battery, he even had the nerve to file a nonpayer dispute against me saying I didn't pay him, all the while I had a receipt from paypal stating he got his money on april 11th, lukily I did pay through paypal and was able to get a refund from him, I got my money back and he got a negative mark on his feedback record from me.
My point is even people with good feedback can cheat you, it may not be intentional but he needs to contact you, because this seems fishy to me, sounds like what ive been through on ebay, if you have not recieved your package by now then it may not be coming. Good Luck
The Flying Dutchmans 05-02-2007, 04:39 PM It sounds fishy to me, I hope you get it
pupil1313 05-02-2007, 08:28 PM Yeah, I hope I get it soon. It's been almost a month. A simple email or PM from him, explaining his side, is more than enough. But still nothing as of now...
pupil1313 05-16-2007, 11:19 AM Haven't heard from him still... What do y'all think I should do? ANyone traded with him before? How was he, when was the last time you trader, did it also took 1 month for him to send? Need your replies... Thanks.
Zoneboy 05-16-2007, 11:29 PM I have one question, Did you send his dvd's to a P.O. Box? This is a favorite trick of con artists. They will rent a P.O. box or one from the UPS store and the person their dealing with never knows their actual street address. If you sent them to a street address, go to http://www.theupsstore.com/ and enter his zip code.
If the address he gave you was a UPS store location, Chances are you're dealing with a con artist. This trick is also pulled on Ebay so you have to be careful. I'm not saying that's happened in your situation but I think it's worth looking into.
pupil1313 05-18-2007, 11:45 PM He is not using a PO box but I think he gave his home address to me. ANyone traded with hime before? Thanks.
KonfusionFTC 05-20-2007, 03:32 AM i think i traded with him long time ago but i cant remember
