View Full Version : McDonalds Introduces American Idol Inspired Happy Meals

OAK BROOK, Ill. — From April 20 through May 10, young McDonald’s customers will receive one of six superstar toys inspired by American Idol with the purchase of a Happy Meal or Mighty Kids Meal, while supplies last.

Toys offered in the meals include Starry Eyed Shades sunglasses, an American Idol mp3 toy, a Star Guitar, a Popstar Headset and an Applause-O-Matic, a pair of clapping hands. Also offered is a Judgmental Mic with echo effects which plays one of four comments on a contestant’s performance.

McDonald's also is offering consumers the chance to win a trip for four to attend the American Idol Season 6 finale in the American Idol "You're Going to Hollywood" Sweepstakes.

I heard a Sanjaya voodoo doll was planned but McDonald's was concerned that some kids might get hurt with the stick pin so they scrapped the idea.

Yeah, The voodoo dolls were already produced but the concern about the stickpins caused the company to decide not to include them with the Happy Meals.

They didn't want to be stuck (no pun intended) with thousand of dolls so they distributed them among the employees and personnel and now you know how Sanjaya was finally voted off the show. :lol:

I'd never allow my kids to eat that junk but then again I have no kids.

no matter how unhealthy it is, McDonald's MADE my childhood. so many amazing memories from that place. :mrtarver:

The American idol Happy Meal should have a Paula Abdul toy.

You wind it up, it stumbles around, speaks in gibberish and then blames it on "exhaustion."
