Understandable and yes, She was cute. The mistake about her being married to Dick Van Dyke is nothing compared to being told that The Love Boat was a spinoff from The Mary Tyler Moore Show. :lol:

Ok, Here's what happened. About 15 years or so ago, The local radio station had a daily trivia quiz during their all request lunch hour. The topic for this quiz was tv and the question was: What series was The Love Boat a spinoff from?

I'm sitting here thinking that this guy must be pulling a gag of some sort and he said the first caller with the correct answer would win. I thought ok, It's a trick question so I called in and told him that it wasn't a spinoff from any show and I was told that I was wrong.

I've always been good at trivia (especially tv) and I knew I was right but he wasn't going to believe me. At the end of the hour, He announced that nobody had given him the correct answer and he then said it was a spinoff from The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

I stood there dumbfounded and said ok, It's time to call this guy back. I had known this fellow for several years and he knew that I was good at trivia. When I told him that it wasn't a spinoff of MTM, He said I didn't know what I was talking about.

I asked him to please explain to me how it is a spinoff and his reply was that both shows starred Gavin MacLeod. I told him he was right but that didn't make it a spinoff he then asked me to explain why it didn't.

I said What was Gavin's character's name on MTM and he said Murray Slaughter I said correct now what's his name on TLB and he said Merrill Stubing and I said correct again and told him that because of this and several other obvious factors that the show wasn't a spinoff from MTM.

I tried my best to convince him but I don't think he ever believed me and I haven't spoke to him since because he later quit working at the station and I lost contact with him.

I knew about Mary Tyler Moore and her role as Happy Hotpoint but, i didnt realise that she actually popped out of Harriet's stove...........must have been wearing asbestos panties! :rolleyes:

I enjoy seeing her prance about on some of the commercials on early Ozzie & Harriet episodes (Mill Creek 38 ep 4 DVD set). Best $9.99 I ever spent!:crazy:
