Did Josh Bryant who played guest character Scully (who dates Margaret) want out of the series or did the producers want him out? I saw today the ep when he and Margaret break up and I wonder why they did that to his character. He was a good semi-regular edition to the show.

I don't know. I liked him, too. Maybe he just wanted to focus on Salem's Lot?

Scully was a pretty good character. He helped Maragret show a more fun loving passionate side, but ultimately her and Scully were too opposite for a long term thing.

Maragret was always attracted to officers who were by the book, Scully was a grunt who barely followed the rules.
Scully wanted a more traditional woman who would settle down with him and be a good little wife, but Maragret loved the her life and calling her own shots.

Scully helped Maragaret drop her guard and loosen up a bit, but they were too different for anything other than a few episodes full of fun and romance.
