Lisa Rinna has signed an exclusive, multi-year deal to serve as TV Guide Channel's leading red carpet host, a move that spells the end of Joan and Melissa Rivers' reign of terror at the network.
TV Guide Channel announced on Wednesday (April 18) that Rinna will make her debut as red carpet host at the Emmy Awards on Sept. 16.
"Lisa has the perfect mix of charisma, poise and experience to lead our live Red Carpet coverage at the major industry award shows," says TV Guide Channel President Ryan O'Hara. "In addition to being an established TV star, she also has fashion expertise as both a business person and commentator, so she is a great fit for this role and for our brand. We are thrilled to welcome her to the TV Guide family and look forward to seeing her on the Red Carpet in September."
Rinna, a veteran of "Melrose Place" and "Days of Our Lives," saw her career reinvigorated by a long run on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." She was recently earned her fourth Daytime Emmy nomination for her work hosting SOAPnet's "Soap Talk."
She takes the place of Joan and Melissa Rivers, who had anchored TV Guide's red carpet coverage since bolting E! back in 2004.
"TV Guide Channel is very appreciative of Joan and Melissa Rivers' contributions to the success of our Red Carpet programming over the past three years," O'Hara adds. "We wish them the best in their future endeavors."
