I haven't heard or read anything about this, but I'm a little suspicious of Lucy and Kevin suddenly moving (possibly) to some town called "Crossroads" .

Does anyone think that this might be a set up for a spin-off? They're introducing quite a few characters in that bar/church/school.

Just wondering if anyone else thinks so, or if anyone has heard anything to this effect.

I was wondering the same thing. It wouldn't surprise me a bit. It might be interesting, if it were done right.

I agree. Lucy and Kevin are obviously the two most popular and likeable characters left on the show, in terms of the younger generation. Moving to Crossroads would allow them to occasionally visit Glenoak if they wanted to incorporate Eric and Annie (and Sam & David) into an episode now and then, if they want to do it that way.

And having a church (who needs a Minister of Music) AND a bar would give Lucy a chance to sing a few tunes (she is a good singer).

I think we'd certainly give the show a chance, if that's what the CW decides to do. But like I said, I haven't heard anything at all about such a show, officially.

Last year, I had read that when the show ended, there would be a spinoff. When it was announced that the show was going to return, I read that this would not affect the plans for a spinoff. I haven't read anything recently, but they definitely had plans for a spinoff.

Ah, ok, thanks, I hadn't read that ... so it does look like a spin off is coming... and this Crossroads thing seems like such an obvious set up for it, I'm guessing that it's going to happen.

And, re: the Series Finale... Looks like 7th Heaven will have a happy ending after all... from some of the stuff I'd read prior to the airing of these last 13 episodes, there was some evidence that made it look like Eric was going to die in this last season. I'm glad they (apparently) didn't end it that way. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

I didn't read this until today. I thought it was a pretty good finale.

A spin-off - well done right it would be cool but not if they "tried to do 7th all over again". Of course it would - and should - be like 7th in all good ways but not just a re- using old stories.

The main probl. is the children. In 7th we always had a teenager kid in the family and unless Ruthie moves along with Lucy and Kevin that would only be small children in the family with no mayor storylines.

Good question, I've been wondering about that myself...

I just took a quick look at the CW web site, and couldn't find any mention of "Crossroads" at all.

Also, I just looked at Beverley Mitchell's official web site... again, no mention of the "Crossroads" spin off... in fact, if you go to

http://www.thebeverleymitchell.com/site.php?content=about

it says that: "Mitchell can currently be seen starring in her 11th season as the emotional yet lovable Lucy Camden on The CW’s hit series “7th Heaven,” the longest-running family drama in television history..."

(emphasis is mine)

It appears that, for the time being, Mitchell is going to be concentrating on a singing career in country music. She did study film in college (I'm not sure if she's still in school or not though).

I found no evidence that the "Crossroads" show is going to happen... It seems that neither the CW site nor her own official site even gave the show a mention... Beverley's career seems to be taking a different direction at this time.

That's too bad, in a way...I'd like to have seen the show produced, see what it was like... I really liked Mitchell, and would certainly have given the show a chance... Michell herself has lamented the fact that there's really not much out there in the way of good family dramas any more on TV, which is certainly true.

On the other hand, one can't blame her for wanting to do other things. Eleven years is a long time to be involved in a TV show (especially when those 11 years constitutes a large portion of one's lifetime)... I hope to see her back on the small screen some day, but for now, it looks like music is what she loves best.

I remember when the episode of 7th Heaven aired in which Lucy sang to the twins to put them to sleep.. (she sang "Just a Closer Walk With Thee"). I knew then and there that she was going to at least make an attempt some day at a singing career... that scene was obviously thrown into that episode in order to showcase her singing voice (which is, in fact, excellent).

I hope Beverley hits it really big in music (or at least, as big as she wants to hit it)... she is a great talent.

I actually have not bought her CD... No reflection on Beverley, I just really don't buy a lot of CDs... More often than not, I'll buy individual songs on Itunes if (1) I hear something on the radio that I like and (2) if the radio station actually identifies the song and artist I just heard, lol... they often don't do that.

I listen to Christian and Country music mostly... I don't follow Country music on a weekly basis, but I'll get in streaks when I'll check out the Country Music video TV stations and see what's out there that's new and that I like... that's usually how I decide what songs to buy.

I've never seen any of Beverley's videos (although I assume she must have made at least a couple, as she's released an album)... so I can't tell you anything about her music... and as you may be aware, Itunes only lets you hear a 30 second sample of the songs that are for sale...

They do have Beverley's album available... the two most popular tracks are "Angel" (a slower song, I think) and "Heaven on Earth Down Here" which seems to be a fast song... I like the sample I heard of H.O.Earth, I'll probably buy that one...

I think it would have been interesting. They should have given Beverley
Mitchell a chance. NBC let Melissa Gilbert replace Michael Landon in the
lead on Little House: A New Beginning, during that show's final season.
