View Full Version : Dogs and Shaking
Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 04-16-2007, 01:44 AM It's late and I'm trying to find some answers. I'm in my room with my dog Bailey and she keeps shaking. She usually does when she has nightmares and I just say her name and she wakes up. Tonight it's violent shaking and it takes her a few minutes to wake up! I'm so worried anyone have any idea what this could be? I can't fall asleep I keep watching her.
Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 04-16-2007, 01:51 AM Wow, that sounds scary. I'm not sure what might be causing her to shake. Is she on any medication that could be causing it? Is Bailey sick?
No medication. She's a perfectly healthy dog, which is kind of why this scares me. Maybe it's because of the pet food scare I hear about but she's not on any of the foods that are contaminated, but now I worry. She's still shaking, so I'm going to call the vet tomorrow, but tonight I don't know how to help her.
Brad Russ 04-16-2007, 01:58 AM Hmm, I'm sorry she's going through that. Having any harsh rains, or thunderstorms going on?? Might just be that she's hearing something, and reacting to it. They say dogs hear 5 times better than the average human, so hopefully that's the culprit. I do hope it's nothing serious, and that she feels better soon.

Omg yes we are having rain right now. You think that's it?
Max Whittaker 04-16-2007, 02:07 AM My dog would twitch when she slept. I always assumed she was dreaming. She's always been perfectly healthy.

It very well could be. My dog always shakes when it rains. Hopefully that's what it is, and nothing more.
Nighthawk76 04-16-2007, 05:56 PM I'm really sorry to hear this, Kelly. As Brad said, it could very well be the rain. However, I think you should make an appointment with your vet just in case. My dog was shaking too a week and a half ago, that is one of the reasons that I brought him to our vet. I'm sure Bailey is okay, but I would have her checked out just in case.
Courtnee 04-16-2007, 07:29 PM Siezures, maybe? I don't really know what to tell you, that's what came to my mind.
EmoJoe 04-16-2007, 07:32 PM i would think its because of rain or thunder that scared her...just my guess. is she still shaking?
Brad Russ 04-16-2007, 08:17 PM How's she doing?? I've actually been thinking about her off and on all day today.

That's so sweet of you Brad! :) She's doing much better today, after our snow/rain storm ended, so I think that might've been it! However, I have to take her in for a check-up anyway so I think I'd better mention it just incase. Better safe than sorry. Thank you sooooo much everyone, especially you Brad!
