She is a friend who lives in Moscow (works in a restaurant there), but fears for her life.

She has no parents. her father died in Afghanistan in 1979 (he was a soldier), and her Mother died 2 years ago in a fire. Her step-father is an alcoholic and he wants to kill her. He lives in the Lake Seliger area, but he writes death threats by email to her.

She only has a few friends (I am one of them). There is no women's shelter for her to go to.

I have read on the Internet that Canada has been known to accept women who were abused by former husbands and family members.

Should I have her go to the Canaidian Embassy and request Humanitarian Asylum?

I would qualify to provide TES (Tempeory Emergency Shelter) for her in Canada.

Gosh, Jenya, I really have no idea what to do in this situation. I'd definitely start with the Canadian assembly and go from there.

Best of luck.

I'm running out of ideas. She hides at another friends apartment.

I don't know. Clearly something has got to happen soon. You seem to have a good idea of where to start. Action.

I've been on the phone yesterday with her for 8 hours, Max. I think she is not only ashamed, but scared. She cannot speak English.
