Without Rerun, Shirley and Mama, would you want to see a reunion movie or an updated show?
You'd still have Raj, Dwayne, Dee and Nadine. Would they, along with new characters be enough to fill up a reunion movie? I know that "What's Happening Now!!" went on without Rerun, but to me, without Shirley, it wouldn't be the same. She was so funny. It's a shame that she died so young. Same goes for Fred Berry. And even Mabel had a sad last couple of years.

Nah, I don't think it would work.

Half the cast is dead. It wouldn't be a reunion, it would be a memorial service.
And Nadine doesn't count, because she was on the ill-fated revival show and not the classic original.

I don't think it work either, unless the remaining members came together to talk about the show. But not a reunion episode per say.

Since half the main cast has passed away (3 of 6), a scripted movie wouldn't work. A retrospective special, on the other hand, would be nice.

Yeah, I think a retrospective-type interview would be the only way to go about this.
But I'm not sure that the show really had the major impact to warrant a reunion show.
I liked the show when it originally ran, I watched it all the time. I don't really like it as much when I saw the "reruns" when TV Land brought it back. But I do have my favorite episodes that I'd still watched if I noticed they were on. I think my favorite was the ep in which Dwayne has a secret (and very successful) formula for betting on football games (which involves the color of the helmets!). I also liked the episode when Roger had to tutor "The Snake", a star basketball player who was being promoted through school even though he could barely read.
I wouldn't mind seeing a retrospective type show, with the remaining cast members telling some funny "behind the scenes" type stories. It'd be nice to get that on record, otherwise those stories would die with the cast. I do get the feeling that the cast had fun making the show, I've never really heard anything to the contrary.
Hard to tell what kind of an audience such a show would draw, although I'd watch it.

2 huge parts of the show are missing. Without Fred Berry and Shirley Hemphill, a reunion done as a continuance of the show would be terrible. Mabel wasn't a big part of the show. However, if they could get the surviving cast together for a sitdown, like MASH did for the 30th Anniversary and Happy Days for it's recent reunion, so they could reminisce, that might work.
