I agree. I actually just started liking Gina a couple weeks before she was eliminated. I don't think many people would succeed at a Martina song, but I really think Gina could have done well with Whatever You Say.

Yeah, I think it's awesome how they're letting Martina McBride coach. I'm not a country fan, but she's one country artist I do like. I sort of think it might have something to do with Carrie in season 4, LOL. Too bad there's no "established" country singers amongst the contestants this season though.

What did the judges say about Sanjaya's preformance? Did they like it or not?

Phil- Not as painful as the past weeks.

Jordin- THE BEST EVER PERFORMANCE! Gives me chills everytime I watch it over and over. You Go Girl.......Jordin for American Idol Winner Season 6
Sanjaya- The worst ever he is not even trying anymore

LaKisha- BAD!!!!!!!!!

Chris- was okay, liked last week better.

Melinda- I liked what simon said...

Blake- Not his best, but still second best performance aside from JORDIN!

1. Phil (Solid performance after two bad weeks)
2. Melinda (Flawless vocal as always, good song to show her personality)
3. Jordin (Thought it was waaaaaaayyy overrated cuz it sounded like she was pitchy in a couple of spots but nonetheless excellent performance)
4. Blake (Great vocal, good to see his softer side)
5. Chris (The nasal tone actually worked for once, but very disappointing song choice and in the overall performance)
6. Lakisha (I thought she started out alright, but it all went downhill from there)
7. Sanjaya (Entertaining, but ewwwww)

My Top Three
1. Phil- Definitely one of my favorite of his peformances. I think he has a future in country music.
2. Jordin- Another great peformance from her.
3. Melinda- She seemed younger tonight. She's a great singer, but sometimes she appears much older than 29 to me for some reason.

Middle
4. Blake- Eh, I just don't understand the appeal. He did sound good to me last night. I'm glad he left the beatboxing backstage.

My Bottom Three
5. Lakisha- I've lost all my love for her. Whatever she does, Jordin and Melinda both do so much better. I thought she screamed out the song last night.
6. Chris- To me, he's the other Sanjaya this season. What is keeping him on this show? I think he sounds whiny, nasally, and terrible. Unlike Sanjaya, he is handsome. I'll give him that much.

Sanjaya is the least boring of the contestants left imo. That's why everyone's focus in the media is on him I think, and a lot of people who don't usually watch Idol are watching to see what he is about. Honestly i think when he goes, ratings are going to go down because people wanted to see what he would do (maybe not next week because of the charity thing, but the week after..), and I doubt people who would regularly watch Idol anyway are not watching to see their favorite this season simply because he's still on there..

Surprisingly, I actually felt bad about Sanjaya's elimination. The audience clapping and cheering immensely when Ryan announced it was really rude, IMO. He knows people hate him, so that was just validation. It was just an extremely emotional night overall though, IMO. But I liked his twist on his encore. :lol:

Aaaahhh, that's awesome! :lol: Yeah, I think Melinda looks as adorable as her personality is. :heart: Personally in my unbiased opinion, Chris should've been in the b3 instead of Blake. I definitely think it might have something to do with the Cake vote-splitters voting more for Chris after bashers took some hits at him. Not my least favorite, but definitely down there. He sounds amazing on the studio recording though. :D Like you I also want Blake in the finale. I know Chris is going home soon so that'll pretty leave Blake for me to root and vote for (I love Melinda and I like Phil and Jordin, but I'm not going to powervote for them). So once they both leave, I'm most likely going to be done with voting, though I'll definitely still be watching till the end.

I really didn't expect him to go, but when he was in the bottom three I thought that maybe he would because I knew it wasn't going to be Blake. Anyway, he needed to go but I still felt bad for him. It wasn't his fault that he was still there--America is the one voting. Like others have said on here, I feel bad because he did get a lot of bad press and was used. Yeah, I don't think Lakisha or Blake will go next week especially because they were in the bottom last week--their fans will vote harder for them. I have a bad feeling for Phil, though. I think he's next no matter how well he does. I actually thought he was gone this week (even though he did well).

He's not the best technical singer, but he's a great stage performer and very versatile. I think he'll be one of the first of this season's bunch to pen a major record deal.
