View Full Version : Don Imus fired from WFAN Brian Damage 04-12-2007, 04:49 PM There goes our raises. **** that bastard Al Sharpton! I hope he dies of cancer. Brent88 04-12-2007, 05:02 PM There goes our raises. **** that bastard Al Sharpton! I hope he dies of cancer. Raises? Did you work for WFAN? I have to say good riddance. I knew when MSNBC cancelled him he would be gone from CBS too. Pavan 04-12-2007, 05:02 PM I heard that on Mike & the Mad Dog. They were pissed not because of the firing but the timing. The Radiothon is going on right now and CBS does this crap?? Brian Damage 04-12-2007, 05:08 PM The timing is absolutely horrible. How CBS can crumble to the feet of the racist Al Sharpton is despicable. ThomasE 04-12-2007, 05:09 PM He was fired? Oh darn! LOL. I found out on CNN. Brian Damage 04-12-2007, 05:10 PM Mike and the Mad dog will take over mornings effective tomorrow. Ireneparalegal 04-12-2007, 05:54 PM I will post my question here that I posted on the other thread. How is it NOT ok for Imus and other non-blacks to say despicable things? If you get on Imus and those who have done it, THEN GET ON EVERYBODY! When Imus posed the statements regarding rappers/hip-hop artists who also use the same derogatory remarks on a daily basis to Al Sharpton, Sharpton IGNORED those statements. Where are all the boycotts, where are all the black women or any woman for that matter who hates what Imus said, why aren't they rushing to ban CD's, music videos that display women in vulgar manner. WHERE ARE THEY? WHERE IS AL SHARPTON AND JESSE JACKSON? WHERE ARE ALL THOSE BLACK ACTIVISTS WHO STOOD UP when it was Richards blasting at blacks at the comedy club. Where are all those Imus haters? I don't recall anyone of those people standing up to the derogatory remarks that are heard on a daily basis on R&B, rap and hip-hop music for the last decade. bandito 04-12-2007, 05:59 PM I will post my question here that I posted on the other thread. TJL 04-12-2007, 06:29 PM I am surprized. I didn't think he would get fired. Chelsea 04-12-2007, 06:57 PM And most likely, he only got fired because the advertisers reacted in their usual knee-jerk manner, pulled their spots, sending the network/station owners into a panic. It's a shame. That said, think Imus will wind up on Sirius or XM? It's a shame. That said, think Imus will wind up on Sirius or XM? I bet he does, and probably making a LOT more than he made at WFAN/MSNBC. But with XM and Sirius thinking about merging, it may not be immediate. TVFactFan 04-12-2007, 09:18 PM Yeah I don't think he should have been fired because it was SEXIST not Racist. Now if he had said "THOSE are some BLACK NAPPY headed Ho's" then I would say Racist but he was just comparing the Physical appearance of the Tennesse Girls and Rutgers Girls Ireneparalegal 04-12-2007, 09:27 PM Yeah I don't think he should have been fired because it was SEXIST not Racist. Now if he had said "THOSE are some BLACK NAPPY headed Ho's" then I would say Racist but he was just comparing the Physical appearance of the Tennesse Girls and Rutgers Girls If it was sexist, still doesn't make it right. Also, if it was not racist, then he should have said so, but he didn't say that or defend himself because he knew he was WRONG. He knows what he said and how he said it. Now, why don't those who demanded his job now go and get all those other people who say derogatory things. Or is this only abt white people saying the wrong thing? Well Sharpton said they are going after Rappers now, so we will see Ireneparalegal 04-12-2007, 09:41 PM Well Sharpton said they are going after Rappers now, so we will see Oh really? I would like to see/read this. From what I have been hearing lately is that rap music and what Don Imus and others have said in the past are TWO VASTLY DIFFERENT THINGS. Today the leading editor from Vibe Magazine, Danyel Smith was on World News Tonight saying that those are two different issues and shouldn't be compared. What the rappers are doing are just entertainment and blah blah blah. The editor from another black magazine said the same thing and more. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Janice 04-12-2007, 09:45 PM In today's PC climate, Don Imus should have his head examined for saying what he said. Oh well, a big mouth Bush basher bites the dust, lol. Brian Damage 04-12-2007, 10:08 PM I'm sick and tired of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson getting away with this ****. They get a pass because they are black. I say they should be held to the fire just like everybody else. Don Imus didn't deserve to be fired. I think with all the other celebs being able to "apologize" to those they have offended and go into "rehab" , Don didn't expect this to happen to him. Brian Damage 04-12-2007, 10:34 PM I think with all the other celebs being able to "apologize" to those they have offended and go into "rehab" , Don didn't expect this to happen to him. He didn't deserve it, plain and simple. TVFactFan 04-12-2007, 11:48 PM I saw on CNN he met with the Rutgers Girls for 3 Hours at the governor's Mansion mriggles 04-13-2007, 01:37 PM I'm sick and tired of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson getting away with this ****. They get a pass because they are black. I say they should be held to the fire just like everybody else. Don Imus didn't deserve to be fired. I agree, he did not deserve to be fired, what he said was wrong, he took responsibility for it. They should have suspended him & left it at that. I think Imus should have had that meeting with the rutgers team before he went on sharptons show. Why was it neccessary to go onto that show with him at that point in time. mriggles 04-13-2007, 01:38 PM There goes our raises. **** that bastard Al Sharpton! I hope he dies of cancer. strike!!!!!!!!!!!! TVFactFan 04-13-2007, 06:06 PM strike!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard today the Rutgers girls are receiving HATE mail and Don's wife response was-"Send the hate mail to my Husband not those Girls"-lol Ireneparalegal 04-13-2007, 07:06 PM Who appointed Al Sharpton the spokesperson for all black people in America? And is he some priest in the black community that every white person who offends must go and confess and apologize to? TVFactFan 04-13-2007, 07:13 PM Who appointed Al Sharpton the spokesperson for all black people in America? And is he some priest in the black community that every white person who offends must go and confess and apologize to? I was wondering the same thing Pavan 04-13-2007, 07:35 PM Al Sharpton thinks he is the black police. If he wants to clean up America, he should start by cleaning up the music industry. Bill Cosby is trying, he is not. All he does is look for other races making comments like this. Brian Damage 04-13-2007, 07:45 PM All this is going to do is put up more racial barriers. |
