Anna Nicole Smith's former lover Larry Birkhead insists he won't share his baby daughter Dannielynn with anyone.

Photographer Birkhead was confirmed as the 7-month-old baby's father on Tuesday, after a lengthy paternity battle with Smith's longtime companion Howard K. Stern, who is listed on Dannielynn's birth certificate.

The tragic model's mother Virgie Arthur has claimed she "just wants to be a grandmother"--while Stern has said he will "make sure he (Birkhead) gets sole custody."

And Birkhead is hoping it stays that way.

He says, "We might go from one fight to another, but I'm hoping that's not the case.

"There's only one dad and I have no problem with anyone that has good intentions being allowed to visit the baby and see the baby and be a part of the baby's life."

But he stresses he will not share custody as "it would imply that I'm unfit as a parent, which I'm not."

Smith died earlier this year from an accidental drugs overdose.

I don't blame him. He's the surviving parent, and he deserves full custody. Virgie had better watch her step and be happy in a grandmother role. If she gives Larry a hard time, she could lose even that.

I can't stand Virgie and her wanting FULL custody is so laughable. What is she going to do? Prove Larry to be an unfit father? How so? She is unfit to be a parent PERIOD!

I didn't know all that. It's really no wonder that Anna grew up so messed up and got into drugs. She probably married so young just to get away from her abusive life at home. Sad, when you really think of it.

Clearly Anna wanted her no where near her daughter, i'd hope Larry would respect that. Just because someones your relative doesn't mean you need them in your life, thats the card shes playing. Let her be happy with Larry's family.
