View Full Version : Favorite genre of TV on DVD?
bmasters9 04-11-2007, 06:05 AM What is your favorite genre of television on DVD?
Mine is '80's hour drama/adventure series ("Hart to Hart," "Hill Street Blues", "Dynasty", "St. Elsewhere", "Moonlighting", and soon, "Hardcastle and McCormick.")
BuddyHinton 04-11-2007, 08:12 AM For me the sitcom format is ideal. Often hour long TV feels padded.
phoebe7165 04-11-2007, 09:32 AM I prefer comedies.
I've got Frasier, Roseanne, Friends, Wings, King of Queens, Sex & the City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Jeffersons(SO FAR!!).
Robert 13 04-11-2007, 09:54 AM For me, it is definitely sitcoms. But I do enjoy some of the one-hour drama series. I love Hart to Hart! I wish Sony would release the next season. I also watched Dynasty a lot growing up.
Ant-Lox 04-11-2007, 10:56 AM Mostly sitcoms. I can rewatch sitcoms a lot, but I never watch Dramas much. I bought Dark Angel, and only watched the sets 1 time.
robby76 04-12-2007, 10:57 PM 70s/80s sitcom takes the slight edge over 70s/80s hour long drama adventure.
I love just popping in a quick half hour retro comedy.

Although comedies are not my favorite genre of television, if you happen to enjoy it, then more power to you. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla-- different people like different things.
I love both comedy shows & dramas, but I probably watch a little more of the comedies.
freshprinceofLA 04-13-2007, 11:42 PM I like comedies and 80's drama's. I'll give the slight edge to the comedies.

Well I did say "slight edge"... there's nothing I enjoy more than settling down to an episode of Remington Steele after a long day. :)
Speaking of Dynasty, I will be getting Season 5 when it's eventually released!

I'm sorry-- I misinterpreted your comment to mean that you preferred comedies over dramas. That was my fault.
catlover79 04-14-2007, 10:04 AM Comedies -- I've noticed they tend to have more commentaries. I love commentaries. :D
waichingliu81 04-18-2007, 04:07 PM sitcoms- i prefer to have a smile on my face, as opposed to something that is too serious all the time
Skywalker 04-19-2007, 10:26 PM Sitcoms. Most of my tv dvd collection is sitcoms. They don't cost too much, for the most part and I can watch most of my sitcom dvds over and over again and still enjoy them.
I do like dramas and I have a few drama shows on dvd, but I hardly ever watch them more than once.
OrCandy 04-21-2007, 12:22 AM I have mostly sitcoms on DVD too. They are the most fun to watch over and over again. :)
sigmapi30 05-27-2007, 01:42 PM anything Sitcom related. I am way over and done with Reality TV!!
BensonFan 05-27-2007, 04:16 PM Sitcoms only. I like some dramatic stuff but for me, seeing it once is generally enough. That's probably why my movie collection is also largely comedy. There aren't too many dramas I would want to watch repeatedly, although there are definitely some excellent ones out there.
dakert 05-28-2007, 12:06 AM I like almost anything from the 50s to the 70s. I dont like to be pigeonholed in any one category.
